What did you think of this great innovation?

>> No.2712198

You mean splitting games in half to double profits? The movie industry sure appreciates it, how they do that with the finale of every novel-based series now.

I always wondered who the pair of eyes in the bushes is.

>> No.2712226

I thought I was ripped off, specially when I went to the level select screen for sonic 3 and found that some of the levels I was supposed to get with sonic 3 were only available if I bought a whole other game.

This was bullshit, and the beginning of the decline of the Sonic franchise.

All this aside, however, both games together make what I believe to be the greatest Sonic game ever made to this day.

Also fuck you SEGA, you lazy assholes, the least you could have done is take the levels off the level select screen so we didn't know we were being ripped off.

If it was one game, they wouldn't just streamlined it and cut out unnecessary shit in order to get it down to one cartridge.

Which is exactly what they did with Sonic 2.

>> No.2712648

>>2712646
That's what I'm saying

Some zones just seem to drag on, particularly Marble Garden, I feel it could have been shorter

Launch base could have been cut down a bit too

They focused so much in making big long zones when Sonic 2 had hit a sweet spot where you could go to a new zone quickly and avoid them dragging on

>> No.2712661

>>2712393
But he didn't say it was DLC he said it was basically a hardware version of DLC ie serving the same function to a game then as DLC does today, learn to fucking read tbh.

>> No.2712686

>>2712648
This is what I don't understand about S3&Kfags. The two games on their own are great, but still fail to reach the perfection of Sonic 2, mash them together and it's an arduous and bloated chore.

The whole "lock-on" technology is a fantastic concept though and too bad it wasn't utilised earlier, we might have seen some interesting shit released.
