What's up with a lot of European games having ridiculously short invulnerability frames? It seems like nearly everyone I play you have a split second causing almost half your health to drain away if an enemy walks through you.

At least turrican was smart and included a smart bomb for moments of panic.

So far I think it is the best one. I enjoy the linear level design and felt it was much more focused due to it with better enemy placement.

I don't mind that it's easy though. Mega Turrican is one of my favorite Genny games.

Truth be told, I actually somewhat prefer how the Turrican games handle things when you're hit by enemies. It's way the hell better than being knocked back, as was typical in platformers of the era. Still, the lack of invuln frames can be annoying.

Never run into healthdrain being a problem in Turrican, unless it's on environmental hazards like spikes or crushing ceilings and such. Pretty much you learn you've gotta shoot everything and not get too close. Also health drain can be abusable, so you can do stuff like hop across damaging floors repeatedly instead of waiting for platforms to save time, and health pickups are usually about when you need them. Just don't stand on enemy hitboxes/harmful terrain longer than you have to.
