What are some fun platformer ARPGs to play, like Zelda II or Simon's Quest, though I'd probably prefer if it's a whole integrated world kind of like Simon's Quest.

Battle of Olympus is action-adventure, not RPG. It would nonetheless fit your description. Imagine Zelda II without level-ups.

Also: 8 Eye's, Frankenstein: The Monster Returns, Gargoyle's Quest series, Kid Icarus series and Zombie Hunter (fan translated) are a few other games to look into, all on NES / Famicom.
