Practice on how to solder first.

I installed a modchip on my ps1 last December as the Cheat card trick had stopped working for some reason. I have yet to have any problems with it. It can be a bit fiddly, so make sure you have the correct guide for the corresponding chip/model ps1. I got it to work on my first attempt, but then again, I have been modding quite a few consoles. You just need patience.

Not sure what the best model PS1 to use. I'm using a RGB scart on mine and the sound and colours come up real nice.

I just want to play imports (playing burnt games would be a nice bonus), would I be better off with a swapdisc?, I cant find any swap discs for cheap is the thing.

Yeah I'm happy to be from a PAL territory, I RGB scart for my ps1/2 and it's such a huge step up from shitty composite

with something like this, unless its for nostalgia purposes, why not use your computer for emulation? You'd get a higher resolution, more options. etc.etc. Just a question, not trolling
I recently pulled out my playstation also, but the gears are gummed the fuck up so I need to tear it apart...i have the middle one in that picture.

I know the emulation is the preferred way to go for many people and I would of told him that, but I also know how emulating can be a pain in the ass!

I still have a lot of physical games and I might as well just play them on actual hardware on a nice CRT, also lugging my pc downstairs would be kind of annoying after a while.

Gotcha. funny you mention the RF Cable. I use the cable/coax adapter to play.
