I spent many, many hours with the C64 version of this. I still have my data disks of (mostly) unfinished projects I made with ACS when I was 12-13 years old.

Did anyone play Sundog? I can't be the only one here that remembers it.

I had the version of maniac mansion that allowed you to microwave the hamster.

Also, did anyone beat any of the bard's tale games? Loved those games but mapping the dungeons was too fucking hard.

Looks like Apple II game. Found disk images here:

>>2658332
Do you still have the stuff you made? All the stuff I worked on as a kid are long gone (BASIC source codes, etc.)

>>2658424
The programmer published the source code to this game a few years ago, so now you can construct the construction set!

>>2659410
No, but I read about the Atari ST version and was very impressed. This link is dead now, but should be on archive.org:

Would have loved a game like that in the 80's. I had an Amstrad CPC, somewhere in power range between Apple II and Atari ST. Lots of really weird, surreal games on there, like pic.

Sundog looked really cool. Always wanted to play it. But when I finally did get a copy, I was a bit out of it by then and never really got into it.
Same goes for Galactic Adventures, Portal, and Deep Space: Operation Copernicus

Anyone ever make a *good* ACS game? My first one amounted to basically running from spaceship to spaceship with some narration provided by text screens.

Second one had a bit of "bring me item xyz" running about and finding hidden doors. I was going to write some sort of story that would accompany the game and provide clues. But a combination of laziness and no writing skills made me abandon that and just make a hint sheet. My friends still seemed to like it.

Third time around I had plans for the "epic" space adventure. Travel between planets by either buying transit tickets or saving up for your own ship. Take odd jobs for money. Actual stores instead the game provided one that was usually sprinkled with random shit. I had the mechanics all worked out for that and other features. What I didn't have was an actual plot for the encompassing adventure or even all the little mini jobs/adventures. So that ultimately went nowhere.

I never used this software, but there seems to be at least some stuff made with it.

I don't even consider any FPS retro, not even the 90's ones. Mainly because gaming has been saturated with FPS since then and 3D gimmicks in general.
I'll make exception for flat-shaded or wireframe though!

I agree, FPS aren't really games, more like point and click simulators and they still make those today so they aren't retro

Huge Marathon fan.
Disappointed when MS bought Bungie and made it Xbox only at the start.
Mac game eventually comes out, buy it.
Been sitting on the shelf for maybe a decade. never got around to playing it. Don't know why, During the time I've even gone back and played all the Marathon games,
