Alright, I have this weird memory of a sprite-based kart racing game, it was either on a PS1 or a N64.
For some dumb reason my brain keeps telling me it was a Megaman spin-off although I'm 99% sure a Megaman Kart doesn't even exist.
You could drive over ramps and while in the air, your car would grow wings and glide for a while. Not sure if this was one character's special ability or a game-wide gimmick.

I don't think this was answered in the last thread like this, and if it was a didn't see it before it got bumped out.

Genesis game likely. 2d action platformer type. You played as some terminator thing that had a chainsaw and possibly guns, and you revealed more of your robotic self as you took damage.

Been bugging me for years.

A ps1 racing game

Not "racing" as in like normal cars though, it was one of those gimmicky race games with power ups and crazy tracks and shit. But the game was a LITTLE bit more adult-oriented from what I remember, and there was one specific character that was Jamaican and said something about voodoo when you passed him on track (or something)

I can't remember much, all I know is that it's a rpg/jrpg with a battle screen really similar to the diagonal angle of Ogre Battle (pic related) in which your characters stay on the lower right and enemies on the upper left.

So, once I played a game on the SNES that looked very similar to Magaman X (probably a ripoff) where you controlled a cartoony guy similar to megaman in sci-fi environments except that I vividly remember that you had the option to switch the gravity just like in vvvvvv. (see pic for an example)

I remember a mystery game and the last time I played it was on Windows 95. The most I can remember from it was that you had to choose from a selection of answers to solve questions and if you fucked up, some axe flew across the screen and stuck into the other side.

Hmm the Breath of Fire ones were really close but still not it. The battle windows were different, yours would be placed under the screen, close to the party while the window of the creatures would be placed at the upper-left diagonally. The characters of the party also looked taller. I'm starting to wonder if it was really on the SNES, maybe on the PS1? I know the graphics resemble a lot those of the SNES, that beautifully polished pixels you know.

Looking for an old DOS game, RPG/ARPG (at least i think DOS), all i remember is that it's top down and you start the game at a beach, can punch only, fight some beasts and then report in the nearby village and one of the dialogue choices is along the line of "I killed many ghastly things on the beach".

I played it on an arcade cab and it seemed to be a specific board.

It was a fairly simple sprite based game where you had a party of... I think eight characters and could select which one you were playing as, swapping them out as you went (health dropped each character might have had special abilities differed). I remember it being fantasy based, maybe exploring a castle or dungeon.

I was a child when I played it and the guy who owned it was someone my dad knew who he fell out of contact with and moved to New Zealand.

Otherwise gameplay rather like Wizards and Warriors, but with more of a Blaster Master kind of environment.

This has been driving me crazy for over 20 years, dad rented it for me once in the late 80s early 90s.

I have an odd request because it's not the game but the advertisement that I remember. It was a full page ad for a JPRG, late 90s-early 2000s so probably for a CD-based system. The ad was the typical group shot of a bunch of anime characters, and what I remember most is seeing a pair of twin girls in tiny bikinis. They might have had elf ears or been kind demon-looking.

I thought it would be Langrisser or Growlanser because the art style for those games look similar, but I can't find any pictures in any of the art that match my memory.

Maybe someone who played JPRGs from that era can tell me if there are any with notable characters that are scantily-clad twins.

Sure, I'll give this a go.

Old PC game I played I guess almost 20 years ago, or more like 18.

You are basically doing minigames in a castle, where each castle room is a different mini game. I really dont remember the nature of the games but I believe it was a bit deeper than just a bunch of minigames placed together. I think the character was a young boy, perhaps a young wizard, dressed in blue and with brown hair, but I could be mistaken.

I'll try to remember more unless it instantly rings someone's bell.

I remember playing the demo of a PC game 15-20 years ago (I think, not an exact time period). The game had two stages, one where you were in a town buying goods and another where you were at sea. You sometimes ran into pirates and had to fight them off, but I think the gameplay was mainly naval civilian trading, so you had to buy goods for cheap in one town and then sell them for a profit in another. I don't recall any player avatar being visible aside from the ship. You could also buy up buildings in the town and rename them, as well as rename the towns if you wanted.

Time period was definitely not modern but it wasn't super early either. Somewhere in the 1300s-1700s range.

It was a top down cowboy game on PC, probably shareware or freeware. You played as a cowboy I 'think' who was trying to save his girlfriend from the final boss? the primary colors were gray and dark gray while the sprites were colored in. To get to the final boss you could enter in the name of the final boss as a password, something like "Cletus" or "Curtis"

The graphic style was like this vaguely.

It was not Custards Revenge.

Despite the strong memory I never fapped to it as a kid or was even that turned on by it. I had a demo for a game on my Packard bell, pent-up 1 windows 95 computer, I want to call it time cop or something like that. It was point and click and had good graphics for the era, I Remer the demo ended when you got into a teleportation tube, a computer scans you, notices a fly and says "anomaly detected" and it Lazer beams the fly.

Here we go
It's an arcade 3D racing game, set in london, where for 1 credit you get a classic british cars, and for 2 credits a sports car. Normal and hard tracks are simple, and the only difference is that hard is longer than normal. Very hard track is hard track, with a twist, you need to make a 180 turn at the very start.

Rings any bell? help, its a childhood memory.

I remember a SNES game... it was platformer, or at least a side scrolling game. Very colourful and "kiddie looking". I think the guy you controlled was blue-ish in colour?
The password system involved placing fruit and other objects on different surfaces though... like, you'd put an apple on a letterbox, a melon on a house roof etc.

There's a couple games I can't seem to remember the name of.

1. I remember it was a 2D or semi 2D/3D jet shooter game. There were the flying ball things, looked like long ball worms or whatever. I think you are in some kind of jet and have to shoot them piece by piece. Played it around 1999-200. It was a PC/CD ROM game.

2. Some kind of South Park game. All of the main characters are stacked on top of each other. You have to shoot certain things/enemies, and have to cross roads, and if you get hit b a car, or hit my a enemy, kenny dies. Also, there's one more game I remember playing, or rather, watching someone play. This was back in the early 2000's. I remember you could play as this guy/girl, and the area I remember most that the guy was in was some kind of bathroom, or something. There was this giant thing with tentacles and if you got close to it, it would hit you or kill you or something. I think it's Resident Evil but I could be wrong.

BBS door game. Is much like the rest of the "wars" games except you're a police officer. You can take bribes and advance up the ladder. You had to use the proper amount of force for the situation. So no using a gun on a perp that had a knife. I was thinking policequest but i dont think thats it.

I'm trying to remember an old game I saw on an arcade and gaming magazine.

It was a fighting game and the sprites were HUGE, they literally covered the whole screen.
Two dudes fighting, they almost look like a gorilla or He-Man, and the dude on the P1 side was giving his back to the player while you saw your opponent's front.

Everytime one fell to the ground they rubbed their back.

It wasn't too long ago but I'll try and explain it as best I can.

It was some untranslated game on the famicom, played it about two months ago when I was going through a romset, can't be fucked searching through 1,800 roms to find it again.

The main aim was to make it from the start of the obstacle course to the finish. The game had 4 players playing at once, and involved everyone running through fun obstacles to try and get ahead, everyone would start at the starting line and from each screen there were new obstacles to get over, you could also punch other players to dizzy them and run ahead.

I'm not too sure about this part, but I remember playing it and thinking that it was probably a videogame adaptation of a japanese TV game show.

That's probably the best way I can describe it.

There was this part of the game which was seemingly impassable, if it was passable, I never remember her passing it
Anyway, this part of the game terrified me, and I need closure knowing that this wasn't the end of the game
Anyway...
You play as a little dude, and you have to jump into this sarlacc pit sorta thing
And the teeth on the sides of the pit will collapse after a second or two, and you have to jump from platforms before they collapse?
If you fall off of a platform, or it collapses underneath you, you will reach the bottom and be consumed by a huge mouth resembling a worm under a microscope (or raptors? For some reason I remember raptors)

I'm not sure what platform it was on (because I played a bootleg on a VCD player), but it was probably the NES.

It's a side-scrolling platformer where you play as a small pink blob that looks like Krillin's head. The sprite was pretty small, about 16 pixels if it really was on the NES.

The first area consisted of a series of stone pillars, with clouds above them. You had to headbutt the stone pillars until they were short enough to jump onto, then use them to reach the clouds.

Would love to remember this, I know I completed it a couple of times:

Early 90s PC game.
Side scrolling platformer/beat em up along the ghouls and ghosts, contra and double dragon (don't remember guns in it).
Main character looks like Ryu.
To get a continue, you had to press the down button on a small version of yourself three times while it ran away from you and jumped up each time you tried to catch it.
In between levels it showed your progression in the world like donkey kong country but without the freedom of choice.
Version I had was in French for some reason I don't understand.

Looking for this awful awful Mortal Kombat clone. I think it was on MS-DOS. It had digitized graphics, as in sprites made with real people. The fighters were some really basic guys, guy with a chainsaw, guy with a knife etc. they all looked like college dudes, wearing 90s fashion, looked like Dawson's Creek characters.

It was probably from the mid 90s.

I sadly remember very little. I'm pretty sure it was a DOS game, you were some sort of animal, a squirrel, fox or something. I remember one of the later stages were up in the clouds I think. I know the game had limited lives/continues because I never beat it.

It was not Titus the fox, Zero the Kamikaze squirrel, Aero Acro-bat, Jazz Jackrabbit or Bubsy.

Like I said, fairly certain it was for DOS, but it's possible it was for early windows as well, like windows 98.

gameplay might have been reminiscent of arkanoid but i'm not sure
the key feature i can really remember was that there was an old archaeologist and supposedly his daughter

game 1:2d game where you play as a red ball bouncing round (ala breakout) collecting fruit/candy, when all was collected you went to next level
game 2: side scroller where you controlled a train you had to get from one end of the track to the other, avoiding obstacles, by switching tracks, there was a map at the bottom of the screen which showed the three tracks you could use,(top, middle bottom)

both of these games were on floppies for a pc my dad had in the early/mid 90's, said floppies wouldn't work with his newer win95 computer though

Trying to remember a point and click horror game. All my friends keep pointing to Inherent Evil, which I have also played, but it's not that game.

I don't remember much of it, but the main characters are like this girl and her boyfriend, and there was a room where you could see a moving bump in the wall, and the end of the game had you escaping from your boyfriend who was possibly possessed at this point. And if you didn't get away, then he strapped you to a chair and unleashed a guilotine on you.

Here's a tricky one: it was an MS-DOS game.
If I remember correctly, it played basically like Bubble-bobble, but you were an insect exterminator, and used bug spray from one of those old-timey sprayers instead of bubbles.
It had detailed animation and colorful graphics, as well as a ton of bonus point items (I think they were in the form of toys).
I can't remember it for the life of me and no-one's been able to help so far.

There was a PS1 game I only played at a friends' house a few times when I was a kid. I don't remember much, but you picked some sort of robot and it would pit you against another robot 1v1 (I think) in a 3D-ish arena (I think). I remember there was upgrades and parts you could buy to make your robot or whatever it was better. I realize there's probably a shitload of games this could be, but it's been driving me crazy the past few years that I can't remember what the name was.

Note-I know Sega Saturn was out around this time, I'm 100% certain I'm not confusing this with Vitrual On (which is also awesome).

I kind of remember a computer game from way back in the day
It was a point-n-click detective game
I was four at the time when I played it so I didn't get far at all, but I remember that you could go into a bar and play a knife game with some thugs at a table
if you messed it up (and I did), they threw you right out of the bar
you could play the game cabinet in the bar too

sorry I don't have more to go on, like I said I was way too young when I played it on my grandfather's DOS computer

I remember visiting relitives in singapore in like 94. They had a clone nes system and a bunch of japanese games that my cousin and i played everyday of the trip. One extremely hard game, i was addicted to was like mega man and kirby mixed in one! wish i knew what it was asked my cousin about it years later and he doesnt remember it unfortunaly. One thing i remember clearly was an orb that grew on his head that would bounce around killing enemys on screen. Hope this rings a bell for someone really would love to surpize my cousin. It was an obscure racing game with isometric view. Graphics consisted of sprites, but made of prerendered 3d objects. I remember one track in some kind of jungle. Players raced with capsule-looking metallic buggies. There were power-ups and a couple of vehicles to choose from IIRC. I played it as a demo and couldn't find anything similar since then.

I'm trying to find a game that I remember playing as a kid, must have been more than ten years ago now.

It was a game where you fly a helicopter around and blow up shit, mainly turrets or ground emplacements. Later on you flew through tunnels and had to dodge missiles, and I think you could use "smart bombs". I think the box of the game had a blue helicopter on it.

I'm not even 100% sure it was retro by this board's standard, but it was a strategy game on PC. Just like in heroes of Might and Magic, there was a turn where you controlled larger part of the maps like towns, I think, and a portion of the game that was turn-based battles. The battlefields were always really scenic and different from games like Heroes. I remember a specific enemy minion that was like a little Bomb guy on legs, and I somehow remember the sprites always appearing a bit "shiny", like a glass orb if that makes any sense.

somehow every time I think of thos game the title Total Annihilation: Kingdoms comes into my headbbut I'm sure that wasn't it because I played that one later.

anyone have any clue? Sorry it's not much to go on, there's a lot of strategy games out there. It also was definitely not Seven Kingdoms.

It was a squad based top down tactical game fighting aliens.

Every playthrough would randomize the effects items have on aliens. For example a TV remote control could one game multiply aliens, other game it could annihilate them.

The aliens would kidnapped your team members and cocoon them in their lair.

One of the roller coaster was called the Matterhorn.

Getting near the end of the thread,but here's a desperate grasp for something that I just remembered.

It was a puzzle game, early 90s. Can't remember if DOS or Amiga. It involved tiles that could have a combination of squares, crosses, and circles. You had to remove all the tiles somehow, and you could "partially" remove tiles by matching, say, a square with a square/cross, or even a square/cross with a circle/square/cross.

There were 2 similar-ish games I was trying to remember from this era, and Ishido was one of them. Can not find anything about this second one.

Well then , might as well post it here too.

so I'm trying so hard to remember this game I used to play when I was younger. It was this first-person shooter, most probably pre-2000 as it had quake 2 tier graphics, I played it on a PC , or at least a demo of it and it started like this: you're some sort of marine or soldier that lands on this jungle/pyramid/aztec/canyon kind of planet (or crash-lands) and the beginning is seeing your fellow soldiers (dressed in all black with helmets if i remember correctly) die of random causes , like you see some choppers/ships crash and burn in the sky , at one point you walk in the valley part of a canyon and you see 1-2 soldiers on the top of each side and they get killed by a rock falling or some natural 'accident'. I remember you just ending up alone and it was kind of spooky for me as a kid, i think it had turrets and lava and I never really got too far in it.

Does anyone know what game this is?

It's actually really similar to the outdoor parts of Unreal , at least the first level or so. But I remember you not having a weapon or at least i seem to remember it while you sort of walked through these scripted -dead temmates- thing.

The difference was that the mountains looked more yellow-ish , like aztec buildings type color and it looked more like a real untouched jungle at first

Okay so I used to have this game I played when I was young where you were like in this aztec temple I think.

You get a torch. I distinctly remember a room with 2 tribal men wearing huge tiki masks running along a set path and I think they attacked you if you got in there way.

Then I remember one other room where you have no choice but to jump into a pit with one of them who then attacks you.

I think I also remember climbing the temple and a boulder comes rolling out and you have to avoid it?
Yeah I can't remember the damn thing.

It's been years so I apologize if this is hyper vague but I was kinda young at the time.

The game I'm thinking of was on Sega Genesis, and it was a top-down racing game set in the future. One of the characters was a super smart alien guy and another one was some giant fat women. You could buy weapons and things between races but I think you also had a limited amount of fuel so you had to buy that as well.

Mid to late nineties, played it on a shareware cd, so I have no idea if it was ever released. It was a sort of isometric rpg for the PC, but you could change the camera angle. I don't remember much except that the shareware thing was set in a forest area, and one party member that joins you is a Robin Hood look al like. I sort of remember, kind of that he had facial tatoos, something in a similar vein to Nightwing's mask or something(maybe it was a mask and not a tattoo of that sort). Characters level up and you can get them abilities. His were of course bow related ones, and I kind of think one of them was explosive arrows. Don't know much other than that.

I keep thinking the name of this game is wizardry but it doesn't look similar. It was a ps1 game where you ran around first person fighting monsters and solving puzzles. Similar play style to legend of grimrock but less refined. The one thing I got sure remember for sure is they had a lot of legendary hidden weapons but they would break when durability ran low.

I've got two games here I've been trying to find.

The first one, I've been searching for multiple years. It was a DOS game. It was like Scorched Earth, but had three dimensions, but did not have real 3D graphics, nor was it Scorched Earth 3D. I remember that you had coolant, and you could flush it to reduce your temperature. Sometimes when the vehicles fired at each other, they would audibly say things. The one I remember is, "Apocalypse, NOW!"

The second one is a game for windows, and I'm not sure how old it actually is, because it might have been a newer game that was just designed to look old. You lead a squad of 4 convicts on a series of three or so missions into derelict ships, but you had no information beforehand. Each time you played, the enemies you fought could have been different, so for one game, your series of three missions might be fighting ghosts, but the next game, you might be fighting aliens. Whenever someone in your squad died on a mission, he was cloned to continue the campaign, but at the conclusion of the campaign, all clones were destroyed, and only the original, uncloned convicts were pardoned. You commanded the soldiers on what was basically a radar screen, and bad things happening could remove your audio or your visuals, so your team would just be doing whatever they want unassisted.

I saw a youtube of game that was posted here but I forgot to save it. I hope someone could help me on this.

It is a adventure horror where there are multiple way to die like uninvited or shadowgate. This game seems to be a bit older. I cannot remember if it is menu-based, or you have to type a command.

All I remember about it is that you got to investigate the house (I am not sure why but I think MC inherited it).

The another thing that I remember is a cemetery outside the house where the undertaker are digging a hole, where one of your death scene is where the undertaker push you down the hole.

Hello, I'd like to ask about some games too, the first one was some old strategy game.
It was situated on some kind of desert, I think there was some ruins too. Units was resembling droids from Star Wars and there was also thing similar to creep in Starcraft - simply, you could only build in a region near your buildings.

The other one was some shooting range, graphics was similar to that of Counter-Strike. I think it was a german game.

I already checked that but no dice.

Old school first person. Where you have to select/type which room to go and you suddenly at the destination. Your view it static (Like uninvited, shadow gate). I don't remember if it uses selection arrow or typing but it is most likely be one of them.

It is very old too. Pretty sure it is as old as uninvited. I remember people were talking about it here. (now that I mention it, I think I will go through the archive.)

I remember several death scene where
- You are buried alive by undertaker
- (not sure about the detail) Two girl are playing with each other and you interrupt. One of girl will jump at you with a knife

I want to find this game because I suddenly have an urge to play an old-school horror adventure game.

I have a very faint memory of a friend of mine playing a game on something that was a NES or SNES. The only thing I vaguely remember is that it (I think) was a water level, but indoors (so inside a building or something like that) and there was an object that looked like a traffic light from what I remember.
Back then I remember identifying it as a Mario game, I'm sure it's not SMW because I know it like the back of my hand. Maybe it wasn't even a Mario game.

I've got a hard one. I don't remember much but I played a demo of a mecha combat game on Windows ME. All I remember is that it may have been first-person and that one of the maps was a damaged ship or space debris and one room had a giant eyeball in the center.

Early PC game, platformer with shooting.
Graphics were similar to early rayman games.
The main character was some blonde boy (I think)
First level was a jungle, you had to rescue women with barely any clothing.
Played a lot like Duke Nukem.
It's not any Duke Nukem, Jill of the Jungle, Guimo, Kid Chaos, Cyril Cyberpunk, Xargon, Flashback

The graphics were close to the posted pic

It was a fifth gen 3D console game, played it in a mall. I was controlling something that looked like Yoshi, a dinosaur or a crocodile, the setting was a jungle/forest, with many trees.

It might be one of the two Croc games, but it doesn't strike anything familiar in the setting of the levels so far. The color of the jungle/forest was a very bright green.

I'd really be thankful if someone could name that old arcade shmup where you can choose between different chars. The only chars I remember is a ninja that has body doubles the more he powers up and a robot that shoots horizontally and vertically when powered up.

The power ups comes from tiles that does swirly animation and shit.

These are the only things I can really remember from this game.

PS1 sci-fi 2.5 SHMUP that had japanese audio in it. There was a water level, and you can lock on to enemies. You fly in a spaceship that kinda looks like the ones from Star Fox. It must have been easy as fuck since I beat most of it as a 5 year old. I think you can spam a lazer beam too. And I know for sure this isn't Gradius, Ray Crisis or Raycross.

I remember a game on sega dreamcast where you had to fight to the death in jeeps or something. The thing I remember the clearest is there was a conveyer belt with bombs that look like sticks of butter on one map. Everytime i use a stick of butter i think of that fucking game.

It was either an isometric or a top down sci fi game for the PS1, I think you start off escaping from a space prison or something, I'm pretty sure you're some kind of criminal but my memory is hazy. It was multiplayer, I think it was on one shared screen rather than splitscreen but I can't be sure. One of the characters was bald I think and had a big gun.

late 90s PC game
3D physics based marble game
play in 3rd person controlling the marble
levels are tron-ish aesthetics with spikes and pits in the coloured mesh to bump off/fall in
first level was blue coloured, second was green coloured
every level had the mission impossible theme as it's music, it would start over with every life

that about all I can remember, would love to give it another go as kid me never beat it

I remember briefly having some kind of point-and-click adventure game back in the 90's about Atlantis, the lost city of Atlantis. I don't remember hardly anything at all because at the time I was young and couldn't figure it out. So I didn't get too deep into the game, but I would like to give it a go if I can find it.
