With a Glide Patch and nGlide it works perfectly under Windows 7 x64.
DOS-Version is very buggy in my experience, sometimes the car just keeps exploding for no reason and DOSBox spews errors in the console. Win95-Version is the way to go...

Hot Wheels Micro Racers is a similar game from the same dev funnily. I'm pretty sure it even uses the same engine. Sadly it sucked imo.

Just made a webm of a old recording with that said bug...

The recording was from a pirated version (which was the multi-language release) but the "bug" also happens with my original german release i have (box and everything). So i think it's a problem with the DOS-Version or, more likely, with DOSBox itself.

eh. it's okay but it really doesn't have the flow of quake 1's combat, especially on nightmare where enemies dont flinch when shot. also it's too slow and the rng around the crosshair for most weapons is annoying. the level design and combat situations created are also vastly inferior to the first game. enemies aren't as interesting either and weapon functionality isn't as important as in the first game. also they made weapon switching slow again like doom, fuck knows why. also I can't seem to rebind my weapons in Yamagi Quake 2 source port how i'd like to in the config files and I don't know why. That shit gets on my nerves.

that's said, it's still fucking solid and miles better than anything released in recent times. definitely worth at least one playthrough imo. also killing the standard humanoid soldier enemies is so damn satisfying and never gets old. I think this game would have pissed people off less if it wasn't called Quake 2 and was made to be its own IP instead. It's cool how Quake 3 combines the first two games together though (hell even Doom).

I changed that m8. It didn't work for some reason. I tried to change both the main config file and yq2 config, made no difference. Don't know what's up.

I don't have that fucking file man. I even read that in yq2 config (it had brief instructions not to change it, and to only change autoexec.cfg) but I couldn't find it in the folder, pic related.

Alien Storm is... interesting. Maybe it's better on systems that don't have 1 fire button.

Yep. It's ported from the Spectrum, but polished up a little bit. Not a fan of the soundtrack, though.

Bumping with Zub for the ZX Spectrum.

I have never seen a /vr/ game with so much juice and polish combined with so little gameplay. It's like a cake made entirely out of frosting.

2640327

Exolon was made by the same dev as Cybernoid, and the gameplay is pretty similar, as you can see. Later on in the game you get an exoskeleton as a powerup, but I didn't get that far into it. The slow, lumbering main character kind of kills it for me, so I would recommend playing Cybernoid instead.

It too got a C64 port, but it was pretty bad. Didn't take advantage of the C64's power.

Fat Worm Blows A Sparky tried to squeeze a 3D game onto a computer that was low-end even by 1983 standards.

I'm having trouble with it. The controls are easy to figure out, but I'm not sure what the goal of the game is. It's fun to slither around, though.

It's cool that the developers used the high-res mode for this, but the controls are too slippery for my tastes.

A lot of C64 roms come with trainers so you can cheat your way through the game, which makes some of the ridiculously hard titles a bit more manageable.
