I like the idea of a standing mame/emulator cabinet, especially if I could use it for other non-arcade games like Megaman X and shit, I think that'd just be neat.

I've always wanted a real cab, but having a mame cab is probably a good compromise, since htey don't need to run 24/7 like standard arcade cabs do, and that shit would get loud as fuck and annoying after awhile.

Unless you want to spend $500 + USD on an arcade CRT with harness, LCD's are the best way to go. Most of them have VESA mounts on the back making it super easy to mount.

Yeah man, im new to this place lol so bear with me. im done with it, it works great. coin mech and everything working, it has all the games I love from childhood. all the mortal combats, street fighters, Capcom vs snk. Cadillacs & Dinosaurs etc. It has a jukebox mode too. best of all, u control everything from the buttons you see there lol no need for pc keyboard. I just need to get some nice stickers, maybe a big street fighter ken and ryu on the sides, or mortal kombat dragon or something. jury still out

lol also, I didn't want an heavy old CRT 4:3 monitor, I wanted to use this old 22 inch LCD I had laying around. And you can mimic that scanline and CRT screen shape within this software, if your graph card can handle it, which is what im doing. in game, it looks like CRT

LCD is pure shit for displaying non-standard resolution. Just try mame on a flatscreen, even with fake scanlines and filter, it will look like shit.
Seriously what's holding you back to use a CRT ? It's literally the cheapest screen out there, you can get them at yard sales for 10 bucks or even get them for free.
