This game is a masterpiece, a true classic of Tactical RPGs.
Immense battlefields, a ton of playable characters, intersting background and well written story, combined with a beautiful soundtrack, this is a Super Famicom must have.
It introduced the Weapon Triangle, the Generation system, and other mechanics that made the series and this game unique and awesome.

Get a the well translated ROM or the real Cart if you love throwing your money away, but you should play this game once in your life.

I beat the first map recently. Does it get better? I kind of like how the over world and actual maps are the same, by they seem sparsely populated.

It gets better and better, man. The 1st map is only a tutorial to show the basics. The story and battle are intense, and you'd better continue. You will never get bored, trust me

Shining Force is a great masterpiece too. SF 2 is huge. So huge that I am in Shining Force Central.
