NES Kid Icarus has 5 different endings, and in the best ending Pit is turned into an adult angel, gets a kiss from Palutena, and cherubs drop hearts on them.

for that you need 999 hearts, all weapons, level 5, strength 5.

In the other endings he becomes a farmer, a simple soldier, a captain, and a full grown angel who doesnt get a kiss.

In both Metroid and Super Metroid you get the best ending if you master the game enough to beat it quickly. (one hour and three hours)

Any other games like that (preferably not rpgs) in which you are rewarded for mastering the game with a best ending?

Come to think of it, Kid Icarus, Metroid and Wario games were all produced by Yokoi's team.

I know it's not a game ending, but I still love how a hidden level set in Wario Land 2 is unlocked by staying asleep in bed at the beginning of the first level of the game

If I recall correctly you only get to see the good ending of Link's Awakening if you dont lose any life, in it Marin turns into a seagull instead of disappearing with all the other people in the island.
