I know you guys won't believe me but let me explain.

We were poor and I would basically get one game a year at Christmas. I loved ninja turtles and my mom thought this was somehow related to the show. I was just psyched because I got a game and was 8.

Anyway, I probably played those first 3 levels maybe a thousand times before getting to the 4th and dying very shortly after. The summer that year was battletoads and only battletoads. I basically brute forced my way through the game. After the maybe 10,000th time going through the levels I beat the 9th level (the one with the pipes and worms). Then I don't even know how, but I just plowed through the last 4 levels without dying. I literally could not believe that it ended. I still have the audio from that game drilled into my mind.

The song of the first level haunts my dreams to this day.

Solar Jetman. Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting game, and can be fun, but beating it is a bastard. And the game doesn't play fair at all.

Cadash on the Genesis. I had a friend, that's the only way we pulled it off. In single-player, there is an area towards the end with an enemy you can't bypass solo. You jump towards the enemy, and even if you kill it you will still get knocked back off the platform by it's shot, then when you come back the enemy has respawned. With two people, you just blast it and your partner makes it through fine, then you follow.

Friday the 13th. I beat it just because I didn't like the idea of games I couldn't beat. I nearly rage-quit when Jason revived for second time, since I thought the game might just revive him every time you kill him.

That's precisely what you were doing in insisting that Rampage is a crap game simply because you don't like that it's a typical old arcade game. I am saying that despite you not liking it, that alone does not make it a crap game. That if that's the metric you use to determine if a game is crap, it's a very weak one.

I didn't ever say Rampage was amazing, I didn't ever say Rampage is a game everyone should like. I said calling it crap for the reasons you listed was a terrible reason. I was and am correct. ok. for the last time...

thread topic = "Crap you toughed out and beat because you were a kid and poor"

breakdown of what that means...

Crap = subjective/opinion/or "crap" meaning "stuff"...

you toughed out and beat = meaning that despite YOU PERSONALLY not enjoying it, you still played it all the way through 'til the end.

because you were a kid and poor = i was. i saved up months of allowance to buy that game... i wanted it so bad because it was awesome in the arcade. ironically, i'd always choose the wolfman in the arcade... all this combined eagerness probably has something to do with my eventual letdown. again, personal experience here.

>admits he never had a valid argument.
>still won't accept that he's wrong
>says he's laughing when he's butt hurt no one else shares his passion for Rampage

now this is funny.

A solid 7/10 for your 'never give up' attitude, but a 0/10 on reading comprehension. Better luck next time, friend :)

That wasn't even me you were replying too lmao.

You didn't put anyone in their place, either, bro. Absolutely nothing you say changes the fact that just because you liked the game doesn't mean everyone did.

Rented bitches. Three dollars a pop you can play every game in the store. One dollar a day late fee if it was a good game. Think the only game I ever owned was the mario/duck hunt cartridge that came with the system. Yeah we played outside. I went back and played a lot of stuff I missed when I was older.

Which if you actually follow the thread was precisely my point. lol 4chan.

You never had a point. Someone didn't like Rampage so you told them to fuck themselves. Why? Because you don't even practice what you're supposedly preaching.

So why are you still continuing to rage over nothing? I even tried ending it several posts back but you keep going and going and going.

Like I said, read the thread. This guy >>2612863 said Rampage was crap because you pretty much just do the same thing over and over. So I pointed out here >>2618078 that that's an extremely weak reason for labeling something as crap, because many games of that era were like that and could just as easily apply to classics like Space Invaders, Galaga, Tetris etc.

Then it devolved into him insisting that his reasons for saying it's crap were rock solid and I continued to disagree, pointing out that only listing minimalist gameplay as the marker of what makes a game crap is an extremely weak argument, which it is.

It's literally the same as saying Tetris is crap because all you do is drop blocks and then the ending is disappointing. Are you going to say that's an example of a good reason to call it crap?

I'm not raging over anything. Pointing out people are making stupid arguments and the holes in them is fun.

You have yet to point out a hole in anyone's argument though. All you've managed to do is show how buttmangled you are over someone else's opinion.

He toughed it out and beat the game while not entirely enjoying it. It fits the thread perfectly. You on the other hand should go over to /pol/ if you want to argue over conflicting points of view.

So you think his reasons for it being crap were solid then? lol

I think it doesn't really matter what you think. They think the game was bad, you obviously don't. Get over it.
