Are you feeling it, /vr/?

>> No.2580736

Am I the only one who wasn't bothered by this stage? I mean it's so early in the game, if you played it enough it became easy...relatively.

Good stuff m8. It's not like this is a typical /vr/meme-b8 thread or anything and your stupid question isn't asked in every thread either.

Really, just kill yourself you worthless cunt.

It was a combination of things that made it so hated

1) Kids liked TMNT so a lot of kids had it
2) Kids aren't so good at video games the first time through
3) It's timed so you want to rush and that's scary
4) If you do it perfectly you've got 18~ extra seconds which is a lot of time but you'll have to know to stop at 29 out of 30 electric barriers

Yeah it wasn't hard once you did it three times and found out where each of the pods were, I still never beat the tank level.

I don't remember anything about this game except the very first level (sewers) and the top-down city (above ground) perspective. I'm pretty sure I played through most of the game though (maybe even finished it).

>those electricity hitboxes
I remember their shittiness confusing the hell out of me when I was a kid

It was a bit frustrating, but I could make it through. The next level was the one that fucked me over. I never got past it.

>>2580746: This. It was literally the first ever NES game I ever played; I had little idea of what I was doing even when the game wasn't throwing a timed section full of traps with an entirely new control scheme at me out of nowhere.

It sucked even more because the few first times I got through, I had almost no health left. The next section looked extremely fun, with the Party Wagon and all, but I obviously got fucking crushed in a matter of minutes.

I remember the Game Genie booklet included an ad hoc code to specifically disable the seaweed damage, actually.

I never thought it was that hard. It's frustrating, sure, but it's no Turbo Tunnel.

I remember being stressad by it early on but then ot just became routine and I always beat it on the first try.

Now the level where you need to find the technodrome that is some bullshit.

>> No.2582060

>>2582050
Yeah, the only way you can safely take that level is with scrolls, and even then you gotta rush to the technodrome before the enemies just overwhelm you.

Of course, once you get inside, you need to rush to Shredder anyways, since all those jetpack assholes will ream you.

Now I think about it, level 4 is the last level where you can actually recover decently.

>> No.2584141

>>2580736
I got used to it so that I could beat it every time.

I always got stuck in level 3 in the sewer where you have to hop over a little hole with a low ceiling. I don't know why I never thought of it, but you just tap the jump button instead of hold it so your head doesn't hit the ceiling.

Level 4 was complicated, but I figured out the quickest route. Level 5 was really hard, but I usually managed. But the last level was ridiculous, the most I could ever make it was this corridor with a bunch of jetpack guys. When I paused Splinter said the boss was close, so I guess I was one room away. Never got to Shredder.

>the most I could ever make it was this corridor with a bunch of jetpack guys.
There it is, the most BS moment of the game, which is already full of BS.

Wanna know how to get past that hallway? You NEED to exploit the enemies AI and scroll them off the screen. The exact moment you see a jetpack guy appear in that hallway, duck and do nothing. They will politely fly backwards off the screen.

Yes, you are reading that right. The only way to beat that hallway without all your turtles getting destroyed is to glitch the enemies away.

After that, all you need to do is fight one jetpack guy as a mini-boss, then you are at Shredder.

But yeah, I got stuck on that jump in level 3 for the longest time as well. I felt retarded when I finally figured it out.

>> No.2584274

>>2580736
Nah because no one ever found the last boss area of the next level. They just drove around for hours before giving up and then back to this level again in a few days.
