I'm curious about the Shining series of games. Which one is the best? Where should I start?

Shadowrun - It's a top-down action RPG set in a dystopian future. Black market trading, espionage, hacking and all that fun stuff. It's a Western RPG, so it's pretty open-world, and you have a lot of freedom.

Shadow Dancer - Maybe not underrated, but I think it tends to be overshadowed by the other Shinobi games. It's a return to the classic Shinobi formula in that you have to rescue hostages in each stage. Very solid difficulty level.

Virtua Racing - Originally for Genesis, but the Deluxe version for 32X has more tracks. It's a fun just for the novelty of seeing a full 3D racer running on Genesis hardware.

Vectorman 1 and 2 - I think maybe these games were overlooked back in the day, since Genesis already had a lot of strong platformers to choose from. They're both very polished games.

Kolibri - For 32X. It's basically a shoot 'em up, but instead of flying around in a spaceship, you're a hummingbird having to fight your way past hostile insects and various other predators.

Mega Bomberman - I believe this is a port of one of the Super Bomberman games for SNES, or Bomberman '94 for TG16. There's a story mode and a versus mode. The versus mode can be played against the computer if you don't have a second player.

Dune II - Port of the same game for DOS. Real-time strategy. It's vaguely similar to StarCraft, or should at least appeal to SC fans.

I have a model 2 Genesis at the moment but I'm considering getting a HD model 1. I know the audio is better than the model 2 but what about video? Would it be a good move?

The controls are a bit wonky, and the game is difficult until you learn the trick. After that it's pretty easy, got up to floor 5 and died on my third try

It'd be a good move if you care about audio, you'd have to get a 3.5mm male to stereo male if you want good sounds from your tv though.

Even then it's only barely noticable

It would be nice if we had more Genesis threads honestly. It doesn't get mentioned as often as you would expect.

Lunar is pretty much the reason to get a Sega CD besides Sonic CD

Finally completed Mystic Defender. My 8year old self couldn't for the life of me finish it. Great game.

James Pond 3 is pretty good. Loads of secrets too.

Fantastic Dizzy. Amazing game.

B.O.B. Fun game.
