ITT: Sports games that can be enjoyed by people who don't even like sports, like me.

I love Tommy Lasorda Baseball for the Genesis. It's a simple game with simple controls that are easy to learn and have immense fun with. Grab a friend and play.

Of course, there are games that will immediately come to mind like NBA Jam, but what about the ones that people don't typically think of?

anon, if you liked Tommy Lasorda you'd love Baseball simulator 1.000. Imagine Mario Baseball before Mario Baseball. I also recommend both snes Ken Griffy Jr. games. I remember Nintendo pushing the shit out of them and child me not giving a shit since I hated sports. Boy was I wrong.

The TECHNOS Soccer (Nintendo World Cup Soccer) and Super Dodgeball are pretty good too.

It's kind of interesting, all of them seem to have slightly different physics when it comes to how the baseball flies. For example, in Tommy Lasorda you'd almost never hit a foul that would go far enough backward that it would end up in the crowd. I don't think it's ever happened to me, actually.

I'm English but Joe Montana football was really fun and the graphics were clear so you could tell what was going on and it made it simple for me to figure out what to do easily even as a kid who hadn't even seen a game of American Football. It was addictive to play and the game had a nice fast pace to it that watchin the actual game really needs, great stuff even if youre not into the game

Pete Sampras Tennis, again I had no idea what the rules were or who Mr Sampras was but picked up the scoring easily so if you never watch tennis you'll understand the system, like other good sports games its just fun and simple and easy to get into

Brian Lara Cricket, now this one was my 2nd favourite but my dad used to play cricket for his pub team and we'd watch it together on the t.v. so I was a bit biased with the game already but I would definitely say you'd find it fun even if you've never played or think cricket is stupid as shit (which it is even though I love it) its from the right era where the game rules couldn't be as stringent as real life so its, again, just simple and easy to pick up and play and the graphics are, again, really nice and clear and it makes it easy to understand whats happening so itd be good to play even if the only cricket you know is from Pinnochio

Fifa 95. Best fifa ever. fuck the people that liked 96 more and its silly indoor pitches, they probably don't know their arseholes from their elbows, this is a real mans (boys,kids whatever) game. AGAIN, very simple and easy to pick up, you don't really have to know the rules or anything because half of them aren't even present in the game. I spent so much time playing this as a kid my sister hid the cartridge under the sofa so she could watch more cartoons rather than me hogging the TV, that's probably all I need to say about this game.

This game is the shit, it's my favourite FIFA game along with 98. It's really good to play with those full seasons, see those weird effects you can apply in your kicks and celebrate each goal with those horns and fireworks. I miss this kind of silly shit in modern games.

I find it hard to say since I like soccer myself, but I'd say Super Soccer is pretty fun if you don't like the sport. I was going to say International Superstar Soccer but that's probably too "realistic" for most people.

Check out any sports title on arcades. Everything is fast paced, easy to pick up and play with great graphics.
The downside is that the difficulty is cranked up to ridiculousness.
