My dad works for Nintendo. I've played the new
Zelda already, and it's not even released yet!!

Did anyone ever believe that kid when they said this? Unless you lived in New York or Southern California, this lie never made sense.

Whoa! Can I come over to your house and play it?
I'll do your homework for a month!

Nintendo has been in Seattle and San Francisco which is northern California. I don't think they ever had buildings in New York, did they?

I think their original American office was in NYC and then they moved to the west coast. But yeah, Nintendo chose Northern California and Washington. Still, I wasn't stupid enough to believe that my classmate's dad living in rural Pennsylvania worked for any video game company.

nintendo had a fleet of planes that flew all over the country picking up their employees in the morning and then taking them home at night.

He works at the secret Zelda building in Pennsylvania. You're just jealous your dad doesn't work there.

Had a kid who said he owned every Genesis game ever made but his parents wouldn't let him loan any of them out.

Same kid in high school said he bought his mp3 CD player when he went to Japan for 500yen(he said that it cost a LOT). Of course no one believed he went to Japan. Thanks to Shenmue I knew 500yen wasn't squat and was able to call out his bullshit in front of a bunch of people.

What do people get out of lying about crazy stuff /vr?

Nintendo's original headquarters were in NYC. After they made the transition from arcade game company to console manufacturing, they moved their headquarters to Redmond Washington, 15-20 minutes East of Seattle. They've been there ever since.

And as somebody that lived in Redmond for the first two decades of my life, it wasn't uncommon to know kids whose dads or moms DID work at Nintendo. In fact, I know Reggie's son. :)

Pretty cool. Did you ever get to see the inside of the headquarters?

Yeah, both the original building that was demolished right after the Wii launch and their brand new building. The old building still had the "World of Nintendo" product showcase there, with the system kiosks and stuff all set up and running with a maxed out Mario World save. They also had an F-Zero AX machine in there. They've been way stricter about security at the new building though.

Obviously saw Reggie all the time, even saw Howard Lincoln and Iwata once or twice. Never saw Miyamoto though.

I played Pokemon Gold & Silver before it was released here. We had the Japanese version on an emulator. Looking back I'm surprised emulators actually existed at the time of the console itself.

Get a timestamped picture of you and Reggie.

Also ask him how he feels about the passing of Iwata and if they were friends.

>>2539005
Lol I know his son, I don't know Reggie that well, only in passing.

Yeah I probably sound like a lying faggot, but I ain't shitting. It's really easy to get a job in product testing at NoA if you live in the area.

I actually did work for Nintendo in the late 1990s. It was just for one summer in Redmond, Washington. I stuffed F-Zero X cartridges in boxes on an assembly line, 14 hours a day, 3 days a week.

>> No.2539064

>>2539030
That's some odd work hours. Would love to only work 3 days a week but I would become useless after that much time of constantly putting cartridges into boxes.
