It was a solid game. A bit of a metroidvania feel in terms of powerups letting you get more hidden items.

I guess i'd appreciate it more if the bros felt a bit more different, but maybe my memory is just foggy.

I love it.
The dialog and humor is great and the game is really fun.
The RPG mechanics are also pretty interesting on a mario game.

I also loved the Bowser's Inside Story. I'd consider it a great sequel to Superstar Saga.
We see Fawful again and he picks up where Cackletta left off.

My opinion? I don't have one as I've never played it because I'm an old curmudgeon who grew up on NES. What I do know about it, however, is that it doesn't belong here, sorry.

Never actually been to that site other than once. I thought their retro board sucked so I came back home to you, /vr/o. I didn't like it because its rules allowed discusion of modernised remakes, which I thought sucked goat dick and I don't think GBA should be allowed because they were still manufacturing machines as recently as five years ago, so fuck that site. Before /vr/ started, I tried posting there exactly once about classic Metroidvanias, like BoO and Dragon's Curse/Wonderboy in Monsterworld. Other than like three replies to the thread, it was dead because I wasn't circlejerking about whatever the latest 3D abomination was at the time.
I've never been to /vg/, but thought that being a general board and not /v/ means that it would be both less quick to prune threads and more likely to be able to keep a conversation about something other than CoD or whathaveyou.

It's a nice twist on RPGs. I love the features where you can didge or attack back on while being attacked. Like jumping over fireball or using hammer to hit it back.

Takes a bit to get used to no RPG downtime in battles.

I love /vr/ and while I'm not too huge a fan of the GBA vs GB, I don't see the harm in letting it get talked about here.

2001 was 14 years ago, and I can safely say, start a thread on /v/ about something antiquated as the GBA, it'll get nothing but shitposts, and burried under all the /pol/ tier SJW nonsense they spout.

If someone enjoys talking about a game, why not just let them talk instead of shooting them down? Whats the harm?

I would love to discuss sixth gen stuff here however I like when boards follow rules. This is explicitly against /vr/ rules, it's on a console released after 1999. This is one of many GBA threads I have seen been allowed. If mods are allowing it then someone just needs to change the rules to "Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance allowed, no other 6th gen consoles".

The minimum age requirement for this board is 18.

18 years ago would be 1997.

So between the ages of 3-10 its more then likely those kids grew up with GC/PS2/XBOX as their gaming platform.

As long as its 18+ It should be allowed. its not fair to subject those kids who couldn't be around for the Atari/NES era to games they couldn't possibly understand our signifigance with.

I wouldn't say the worst in /vr/ history. There was a point when on-topic threads and posts used to be deleted left to right within minutes of being posted, complete with warnings and bans. I actually got warned for posting a Gauntlet thread, then banned for a thread about censorship in the early generations of gaming. Usually the excuse was "quality of posts" or some shit.

I honestly prefer things be more lax. So what if people want to discuss GBA? /vr/ is slower than molasses. Anything that stimulates discussion is a good thing.
