This explains everything. Coincidentally my second car in all GT titles are always RX-7, rotary engines and dat sound But at least in GT games I think it's hard to main some vehicle as the race conditions change from event to event. In general most of time I'm using some powerful rear wheel drive vehicle, in GT1 the TVR cars are really fun to drive and in GT2 the Speed 12 and GT90 are beasts, the former only playable with analog accel though

>>2516072

I can't think in something more comfy in racing games than buying cars in GT1 car dealers. Not retro, but customizing your garage in Auto Modellista is pretty neat too

Anyone that puts more than 5 minutes thought to their goddamn car is an idiot. You kids probably rice and fuck with your real life shitmobiles every goddamn day and spend thousands on something that is just made to get you from A to B.

Waste of time. Buy the cheapest car you can find, do reasonable maintenance, and be happy.

When I was a kid I went with the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo in GT1 for sheer max speed. I thought it would over compensate for the tight steering restrictions.

I honestly can't understand how they managed to make GT1-2 to look so good on the Playstation hardware. It has the most detailed looking cars, and the kind of lightning that would look impressive on a PS2 game as well, let alone on a PS1.

I'll take this opportunity to ask- is GT2 worth owning?
I never had a PS1 as a kid (I was a Saturn kid), so I have honestly never played a GT. The game is pretty cheap and I have enjoyed what I've played of Sim Racers though. Will I have fun or has it not aged well?Unrelated but are the newer GT games worth it?

That's because it's about as far away from Ridge Racer as it can get while still being a racing game. It's a driving simulation, RR is an arcade racer.

I don't much care for it myself, though it looked great back in 1998.

The license tests are pretty generous, you only need to stay in the track. But you won't gold though, it's not like you gonna miss some awesome vehicle.
