Why western games or western localizations got more dated than japanese games?
Streets of Rage is early 90's as fuck and don't look like a complete joke. Rival Turf is pretty 90's too, but only the western cover looks ridiculous.

I would say that is because how japanese games are more stylized, but some of them are pretty realistic, like Streets of Rage, while there are plenty of stylized western games.
