Wolf3D is still an incredibly fun game. I love the sprites and colorful look of it, and it's impressive the kind of maps they were able to pull off with such a primitive 3D.

I find its best to acknowledge the arcade nature of Wolf3D and play each episode without saving, collecting lives and finding secrets. Much like pistolstarts in Doom, this really brings out the pressure and collectathon gameplay instead of mowing down everything monotonously. When you face a room full of SS on your last life, itit's quite a rush.

Anyway, I'm sure other people love this game even despite everything that came after it. Recommend me some custom maps.
