Stand by. Not that thrilled on the label but don't know many that have the game so pretty happy.

Only a Mother 3 fan translation since I don't have a GBA flash cart. Price was right, label looked nice and I like to play Game Boy games on the real thing. I'll probably end up getting the Everdrive GBA once that comes out unless there's a better solution out there, but all the ones I've seen so far have been mixed.

Don't really see the point of bootleg carts anymore when flash carts are so prominent. Star Fox 2 is the only exception I can think of and that just requires too much to sacrifice to justify making one.

Sorry for the crappy photo quality;

I enjoy having unreleased games in my collection. I've ordered a few games and have another order coming in the next month or so with some other games I can boot up my NES for. Yeah, there's emulating, but I always thought this was more fun. And if you're done with them then you can make an easy 40-50$ on kijiji.

I got a few repros myself, definitely standing by all of them.
One of these days, I'd also like to get Starfox 2, SMB2J, and Castlevania 2: Redaction

My personal rule of thumb when it comes to repro carts is to make sure its a game that was either never released or not distributed in that region

>posting romhack repros

I buy repro carts only for the purpose of being able to play the JP games I love on real hardware, but when it comes to hacks I wouldn't get repros; fuck that. It really is a great feeling to play these on hardware now, and having it boot like a normal game rather than emulating or having a flash cart boot from a list of games is also a much better feeling.

Got the second part right. Replacing a ROM with an EPROM is no more "emulating" a ROM than replacing a higher value resistor with a few lower value resistor is "emulating" a resistor. I am aware there are autisits on the internet who disagree.

>> No.2507249

Neo Geo AES conversions come with a certain degree of guilt, as they require other AES carts die for sacrifice. Still, if I were to get into the Neo home system conversions would be appealing: thousands for Metal Slug or Blazing Star versus a few hundred, tops, for a nice looking conversion? Neo conversions, done well, are all original SNK chips boards etc and just new paper (label, insert) so they are almost identical to the real thing where it counts.

I would rather stick needles in my eyeballs.

The meaning of buying the original cartridge is because 1) it's legit and the intended legal way, 2) you're a part of something 3) people find meaning in it, to have the original. I've never even found it that compelling, but I at least understand it.

It's like having a famous painting. A repro is like photocopying it and paying for that. It's just ridiculous and a joke (imitation paintings listed as such are obviously very different, they're art in their own right).

It's not OCD, it's like someone who doesn't understand anything at all about why they are even doing what they're doing.
