Favorite game on a sega console(i guess not first party)?

I love me my Nomad.
Favorite 1st party Sega game would probably be Ecco
Chakan is definite
Favorite controller is Saturn.

we can all agree on this, is there anything like jamma boards with sega cabs?

>> No.2504556

I loved old Sega. It not only made all games across the genre, but the games it made were top of its kind. Compare Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star Online, Streets of Rage, Outrun, Virtua Fighter, Super Monkey Balls, Crazy Taxy, Virtual On, Seaman, LA Machine Guns, 2K Sports series to its respective peers. If they were not the best of their kind, they sure were pretty damn close. It's really a shame that they never do anything with their IP.

sonic boom was a thing

>> No.2504573

They were a cool company once upon a time. They still could be if they funneled their IPs toward good development teams.

Shinobi is one of my favorite game series, yet look where it is. Sure the 3DS game is great for the most part, but you can tell they were working with a pretty limited budget and the game sold like piss. I got it new for $8.

All in all, Sega were what video games needed in the 80s and early 90s. I'm not going to shitpost and suggest they were better than Nintendo, but they explored an audience that Nintendo never did and still doesn't.

They're also really supportive of things like the Virtual Console, which is very nice.

I'd have to suggest a modchip or the new rhea.

Best saturn games are expensive:

radiant silvergun, assault suit leynos 2, 3 wonders (roosters), makaimura collection..

maybe salamander/life force is cheap? or megaman x4?

don't think of it as gittin gud. just sit down and play it and enjoy it. doesn't take too many plays to get the hang of it, and you can set 15 continues.

also imo change the controls to:

A = left shot
b = jump
c = right shot

atleast set each shot direction to it's own button rather than the stupid button combo. such a good game once you get the feel for it. really frusterating trying to go for the 1cc tho

I have a Sega CDX, I only have 10 Sega CD games but I at the very least enjoy them a lot.

I have a 32X with 7 32X games (about to be 6, selling one off soon). My 32X works in the CDX, but when I play Genesis games on it, the colors get blown out. Nobody's come up with a solution to that yet.

I have a power base converter that yes, fits in the CDX without trouble. The only games I have for it are After Burner, Phantasy Star and Ghost House. I WANT to get into them, but it's really difficult to stay invested in them, for whatever reason.

I have a Saturn with 31 games, 8 of them are imports, I use an action play plus to play them. Sad to say I have a lot of unfinished ones, I have all three Panzer Dragoon titles and have never managed to finish any of them.

The Dreamcast is probably my favorite console, if anything for the game slection (Ecco Defender of the Future and Virtual On Oratorio Tangram being my favorite game of all time). The battery/clock issue is a bit annoying, but livable.

I had a Game Gear as a kid, it got left on a plane when I let my sister play it and she left it behind. Doesn't seem worth it to get a new one. I never had a Nomad.

Sega CDX is pretty damn awesome. For one thing, it lets you play CD games without needing an entire shelf for the monstrosity that is a an early model Sega CD.

Unfortunately, it still has the inferior model 2 audio. I recently picked up a dirt cheap model 1 (only have a model 2 and CDX), and yes, the difference is huge.

No point.

I've taken it to two different used game shops who let me agree to test their hardware against mine.

I tried my 32X in their Genesis (both model 1 and 2), their 32X models in my CDX, and changing cables. the same thing happens no matter what I use, so it's either a problem people don't notice, or I tested three bad 32X units.

Castlevania Bloodlines is my test for the problem since the title screen is that badly blown out.
