Tibia is a top down fantasy MMORPG launched in 1997. /tbg/ plays in two servers: Secura (located in Europe where we have the guild Yotsubas) and Fidera (located in North America where we have the guild Sengoku). Choose the server you have the best connection to and post your name & world in here for a guild invite. It's beautiful and warm outside but the Summer Update is coming to lure us back into the darkness with a ton of new hunting locations.

So, there's a ranking system at Rathleton with tasks awarding "votes" upon completion and you spend those votes to vote for World Changes that happen at Rathleton each two weeks. Spending 50 votes gets you rank 1, another 100 votes (150 total) gets you rank 2, another 150 votes (300 total) gets you rank 3 and another 200 (500 total) gets you rank 4. Some tasks are faster/easier than others, all can be repeated infinitely without delay.

To fight glooth bandits you need 300 to access the Underground Factory area (not to be confused with an actual factory building on the west side of town). That means completing 300 tasks to get 300 votes. You can get 300 points from a single task if you want, variety is not required.

At rank 0 you can only vote on which hunting grounds shortcut pipe back to town will be activated. (I think rank 1 is required to use the shortcuts?)

Rank 1 lets you vote for a set of creatures to appear in a special dungeon and sell creature products dropped by local wildlife. (I think rank 2 is required to enter the dungeon?)

Rank 2 lets you vote for a raid boss and sell gear looted from the local wildlife. (you see how this is going. I could be totally wrong though)

Rank 3 lets you take the shortcut between the boat and town and enter the Underground Factory.

Rank 4 lets you begin Rathletons second major questline.

How can it get any more convoluted? Well the wiki's "Oramond Quest" page is listing tasks in an anarchic order, including tasks that can only be done at the Underground Factory (which requires 300 votes to access), not mentioning that some tasks like "Minor Taurs" requires a certain rank (either 1 or 2), is missing tasks (Major Taurs) and some tasks have been tweaked.

On the 13th of each month the island changes slightly. Furries attack the surface. Nightshade plants blossom underground. Liquid silver used to turn traps into silver traps can be mined and a boss will arrive. Gotta put the silver trap on the floor before opening it. And then you can never pick it up again. Seems Feroxa takes 1k damage when walking over each trap. apparently silver traps "weaken" strong were-creatures (like this boss) but in the chaos it's not clear how useful they are.

Also NPC Rotem in the Adventurers Guildhall has a quest to go use a map at most of these places. Sometimes you need to go inside, others can be done at the entrance. Everytime you use the map without updating it with the correct spot your server log will list every single spot you have done already.

Finally went to the swamps to check out what is going on there with some sort of souls and whatnot. Needed some antlers and other junk to redeem them, that took a buttload of deer genocide before antlers dropped. Then needed to redeem 100 souls to enter a portal. Atm the summoned duplicate souls work just fine so I redeemed 100 copies but that seems like an oversight so it might be fixed

Sword is a bit cheaper than some axes, but gets expensive as fuck as you go past level 100something. Axes often have a bit more base damage too.

There's a new beginners island which you'll get through fast (you can leave at level 8 or stay a bit longer) and the browser client has a decent mini tutorial when you start your first character but once you hit the "mainland", a single large continent where freemium players are restricted too, then it gets a little rough.

It's an old game updating at a steady but slow pace and there has become a clear divide between older caves which are sparsely populated tunnels and modern caves which are densely populated open areas. The beginners island, Dawnport, is a modern area with tons of exp on legs running at you. The level 8-20 areas in mainland are sparsely populated tunnels and small caves (even the older premium area caves aren't as good as Daawnport). They do update the mainland now and then though and there's a good modern area for level 40+.

There are also P2W elements present, offline training, a temporary 50% bonus exp during the first two hours of Stamina (an anti botting system), better spells, and of course many more islands and areas.
