I'm looking for some anime style mech games. Which ones do you guys know of?
I already played Metalstorm,Metal Warriors and Assault Suits Valken.

Front Mission is good if you want something more like Gundam. It's real robot with lots of story and political intrigue. It's mostly an SRPG series, but there are action games like Front Mission: Gun Hazard too.

If you want to play the first one, get it on DS. It's a port of the JP-only Playstation version, and has an extra scenario played from the enemy country's perspective.

Just discovered a pretty great Metroid-lite action game on PC Engine called Eternal City, with mech and character designs by Masamune Shirow.

A stretch...but Evangelion on the N64...but you'll probably like it a hell a lot more if you watched the show and the movie, or else it'll just seem like "meh"

I'm having trouble understanding why you would need anything else.

Is that the same shit as Cybernator? In general you should play that entire series including the Saturn game.

Yup.

Assault Suits Leynos (Target Earth)
Assault Suits Valken (Cybernator)
Assault Suits Leynos II (Saturn game)
Assault Suits Valken II (PS1 Front Mission knock-off. I'd pass on this personally)

Apparently, the developer of Gunhound EX is working on an Assault Suit Leynos game for PS4.

I got a question related to this thread.
I remember playinga game on the SNES when I was a kid, you could choose between multiple robots, and from what I recall you could exit the mechs and play as a tiny little human, and pick another mech if you find one.
There was split screen multiplayer with a big map and I think one was supposed to destroy the other. I also recall a round shaped mech that rolls around to go faster or something like that.

Does anybody knows what this game is?

Metal Marines

A RTS for the SNES featuring mechs.
I recently bought it on a whim at a retrogames store because I had never heard of it, but it's pretty cool.

How are there all these responses, but not a single mention of Ranger X? Easily one of the most fun mecha games of the 16 bit era.

Curse me for not recognizing the Japanese box, I feel like such a pleb now. But at least it's been mentioned. Wow do I love that game.

Also, not quite retro but Zone of Enders: The Fist of Mars on GBA is a really fantastic SRPG with a fun combat mechanic.

Gigantic Army isn't retro but I feel it should also be mentioned for Assault Suits fans.
