Hey /vr/,

Some anon recommended me the X-Arcade stick for MAME and because it can take abuse since I explained to him that people at my house play like monkeys. Are there any other sticks with bat stick and concave buttons that can take beatings from monkeys?

Also, feel free to post sticks you guys own and what you like the most about them.

The X-Arcade stick is actually a pretty poor build-quality (and its guts are more "keyboard" than "game controller"). If you're going to use a bat stick and concave buttons (excellent taste, BTW!), you're better off going with either of the following:

1) The Mortal Kombat X stick for the XBOX 360. Pros: it has a usb plug and works with Mame out of the box. Super-comfy cloth bottom. Cons: Mortal Kombat button-layout only, which limits what fighting games it's good for.

2) A Pelican Real-Arcade stick from the 6th console gen. Pros: ordinary eight-button layout, super-sensitive ANALOG joystick which works just fine as a 4-way or an 8-way (easily configured in MAME). Cons: old, so hard to find, and you need either an XBOX-to-USB or Gamecube-to-USB adapter to attach it to a PC. (Weirdly, a Playstation-to-USB adapter simply will not work.)

It's wierd but my recent AMD build has trouble working with arcade sticks like the MvC3 one while my old Pentium 4 Extreme Edition build has had zero problems doing anything of the sort.

yeah it's weird my pc detects it but i can't get anything to recognize the button presses or when i move the stick

X-Arcade Dual Joystick owner here, while it's pretty shit for enthusiast level gaming [fighting games, SHMUPs, games that need that fast reaction], it really can handle a beating like a boss. Dropped it so many times you can see the scuffs on the plastic edges but the wood is not showing any noticeable chipping.

>>2477762
X-Arcade line of sticks are the only american style arcade sticks on today's market that are worth the appeal but don't expect it to perform up to tournament standards.

Might have something to do with drivers only being available on PS3. If you still have that stick, google to see if you can stick a PS360+ PCB into it and you should have no more problems.

all i was able to gather from google is that some people say that the hori sticks are all just plug and play even on pc, while other people are saying that you have to actually mess with the driver files which i have no idea how to do

In my experience, that issue persist a lot on AMD cpus and I never figured out how to fix mine without getting a PS360+ PCB.

Why is it every time somebody mentions the word bat stick faggots come out of the woodwork to talk about their balls and how to properly fondle them? You remind me of retarded weeb ping pong players who hold their paddles upside down and can't play for shit.

As someone looking to purchase one of these X-Arcade dual stick setups for an arcade machine build (with dreamcast/xbox/ps2 hotswap inside), is the build quality really that off? Anyone have any knowledge as to how they perform in comparison to Hori console units or the dreamcast arcade stick?

The build quality is pretty fucking great considering the stick and buttons are knock-off of HAPP parts. A perfect stick for casual play, I strongly recommend getting iL parts from the links below though if you want to take the quality a step up.

As this slips off the board, thanks.I'll look into upgrading its components.
