What game is your almost 10/10 perfect game?
keep it /vr/ of course.

I think mine would have to be Megaman X, but I think Terranigma gets an honorable mention, only because I haven't finished but so far it's pretty amazing. Shame it wasn't in America.

Either Donkey Kong Country 2 or Mega Man X1, I loved the HELL out of those games and still replay them a lot.

Oh, hey! I have that PS1 with the tiny LCD screen! I have a modchip in it but my original Spyro 3 copy won't run, is there a patch or anything for the ISO to burn on a CD and then play it on PS1? The original disc gives me a THIS DEVICE WAS FUCKED WITH message.

id go with chrono trigger..

once you play 20 other rpgs, the common tropes and ez difficulty will steadily lower the grade..but what inspired you to play the other rpgs?

The one on the pic is a very good contender (Ridge Racer 4), for a racing game it has a lot of heart and style, and it had an awesome 60 FPS version of the original Ridge Racer as a free bonus disc. Namco was truly awesome back then.

Umihara Kawase, because the gameplay is so satisfying and the mechanics offer an unparalleled freedom of movement in a 2D game. It can be played and enjoyed at any level of skill. The ceiling for mastery of the game is so much higher than most games. It's fun as hell.

This was a really tough decision, but when it comes down to it I think it's actually Pokemon Gold/Silver. I was in college at the time and the games were huge there. Everyone battling and trading in between classes and that was when IVs and EVs were getting discovered and breeding still seemed esoteric. Plus the whole game felt like a big vacation which I loved.

Removed everything tedious about RPGs and cut all the unnecessary crap. The story is paced perfectly, smarty broken into chapters that give you a huge change of scenery every couple hours. There's no grinding, difficulty ramps up as you get new abilities that actually take skill and tactics to use. Fun puzzles, side stuff, great writing and music, and some of the best aged visuals from the n64. One of my biggest gripes is that you can't save the game after you finish it and just run around the world after everything is over.
