Man I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you. I'm in my goddamn 30's and it feels like I've barely even scratched the surface of incredibly satisfying games to play.

That's how I feel when I see my little brother just mosh old games, especially when I see him constantly spamming the fast forward button and ignoring text.

I'm in my 40's, but seconding this opinion. I'm inundated with awesome games.

>> No.2462223

Despite popular belief here on /vr/, there's still great NEW games being made too, and I'm fully capable of having a blast with them too when they come around. So OP must have mental illness because between retro and new games, our potential satisfaction from games is truly without limit.

I dunno, dude, anytime I play a "Souls" or Monster Hunter game I'm pretty satisfied.

Sadly, my childhood was rather deprived in the sense that I experienced very little real life, and on the otherhand experienced a ton of vidya. Of course there are games I haven't already played (like >>2461084 but I find the controls too obtuse, unfortunately) but I'm pretty limited on finding that experience in the retro category out of something I haven't already played, and in that case there is always the nostalgia argument

>>2460950
I'm getting that right now from Bloodborne actually.

>> No.2465798

Did it somehow not become a $10.5 Billion industry? I'm pretty sure I'll still be playing new good games for a good long while without even considering some older games that I haven't beaten.

Me too--and Witcher 3. The satisfaction exists but you gotta dig for it sometimes. I would suggest avoiding Retro-Indie games....except Shovel Knight...they all seem to hand hold too much.

Sorry OP I'm with you. Chalk it up to ADHD and wanting to do something with your life. I'm sure once you've found a wife and kids and are just looking for escapism (what vidya is) you will be satisfied with good games again. Now, however, it's your brain telling you to go out and do something with your life.

Sounds like you just don't like video games anymore. I'm having a blast playing a number of retro and modern titles.

I'm clinically depressed with ptsd and shit. I don't enjoy anything anymore at all. I want to go back to a time when I was at least healthy and had friends to share video games with.

The last game I had an intense satisfaction after finishing it was a japanese sci-fi porn game. Everything else I played pissed the fuck out of me, mainly because they were either mediocre or half decent. My biggest disappointments (retro-wise, because if we count non-retro it's Mario 3D Land) were probably Zelda LA and Alex Kidd. I just found them really underwhelming, boring and repetitive. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mindset, or I'm tired of Zelda and platformers.

Playing earthbound for the first time. Loving it.
