They're expensive on eBay and slightly less expensive on Buyee, but then you have to deal with extremely lengthy shipping and potentially expensive shipping processes, along with no ability to give bad feedback if the seller packaged it like a goddamned ape.

I'd recommend you look into gamecube>N64 adapters from raphnet or somewhere else if you don't want to be sure if it's reliable. Other options include making your own, which is difficult, or buying a 'gamecube style' replacement joystick for your existing n64 controller at the risk of it not working perfectly, though I'm told most of them work OK.

You want an original N64 controller with a gamecube style analog stick replacement. That's the best N64 controller experience you can have. Check ebay for the replacement I'm talking about.
