In WotL, getting her to be a Dark Knight with optimal equipment makes her into a lesbian Orlandeau, and probably even better (Dark Knights have fucktastically high PA, you just give her Holy Sword as her secondary ability set, and she then rapes anything, anyone, and everyone).

Another one that get unfair treatment, gameplay-wise, because of Orlandu is Meliadoul. On the thread's tier list though, I'd probably put her in Fuckable Tomboy tier. I've done a bunch of testing with dark knights. They just can't compete with Orlandu. He's too good.

The only character that can compete in WotL is Balthier, thanks to his unique attack that hits four times, so he's not restricted by damage caps.

Meliadoul and Agrias are really good units, it's just that Orlandu is walking death.

As for tiering Meliadoul, I'd put her in "I don't know how the fuck to pronounce her name, but I'd hit it" tier.

I haven't done a bunch of testing myself, admittedly, but there are a lot of female-only equips that make the ladies downright broken, and seem to make them a better unit overall, not just in terms of damage. Agrias with a Chaos Blade, Escutcheon II or Aegis, Ribbon, Lordly Robe, and Tynar Rouge is absolutely ridiculous. By the time you can get this setup, she's already most likely able to oneshot everything herself, but if you go with something like Dark Knight/Holy Sword/Shirahadori/Vehemence/Move +3, not only is she still doing sufficient damage, but she's also nigh untouchable. Even Orlandu isn't quite that good defensively, although I'll admit he's definitely even more awesomesauce in terms of sheer damage output.

In defense of Rosa, Final Fantasy 4 is very much a Character Story about Cecil.
Its very off in the way that Cecil really has little to no input on a lot of the things going on aside from that he needs to be proactive about them, wherein a lot of cast are usually representative of Cecil and Cecil's Redemption.

Unfortunately Cecil's character arc is pretty subtle, while only Edward, Tellah, Edge and Rydia have a close to their character arcs.

The transformation is probably the most literal and overt part of his character arc, but just because he becomes a Paladin doesn't mean that he fully embraces the spirit of being a Paladin, the themes of the game, or complete his character arc.
By becoming a Paladin he does begin to redeem himself for his past actions but its not until he learns to forgo Hatred and Forgive his Brother at the end of the game that he comes to terms with what KluYa tells him upon becoming a Paladin. I like to imagine that Agrias survived the explosion after the fight with NotAntichrist and was on her way to finally see her waifu again (since the ending is an entire year after that last event, more than enough time to finally get there), when she sees Ovelia and Delita stabbing each other. Agrias has a bit of a freakout, but is still composed enough to run up and save Ovelia with a Potion/Elixir/Phoenix Down/Cancer (Agrias' sign) or Taurus (Ovelia's sign) Stone. Disappointingly, she doesn't kill him, likely because he's not worth the effort, and even more likely because she's too busy crying and whisking away the princess to even think about him.

After all, he does prosperously rule Ivalice for awhile, as noted in the manual and at the beginning of the game, but he can rot on his throne all by himself, thank you very much.

Most people will point you toward the remakes because of how much they benefit from relatively modern game design paradigms (ie shit like magic and equipment are described in-game, and your characters don't attack thin air if their target dies before their turn, among other things). While the PSX remake is nice for the updated music and mix of new and old mechanics, I will always suggest this patch when people ask about FF1.

Biggest feature is a full bugfix to iron out all the weird bullshit present in FF1 like busted spells/weapon effects/stat/crit calculations while retaining the original mechanics/spells per day system. Second is a modest retranslation to iron out the weirdness present in the original. Last is some slight graphical improvements to bring it in line with the games that came later, but mainly only to text and menus. Anything you don't like/want (for instance, they made a new boss theme at the cost of the sliding puzzle; the theme is decent enough and I fucking hate sliding puzzles) can be individually removed if there's a specific odd bug you liked about the original version. I played through it last summer. It's well worth the download.

Cecil starts the game as a Hate Knight who uses his Hate Sword and Hatred ability to hurt others but ultimately hurts himself in the process.
I like to think that the games constant reference to Dragons has something to do with Family, which may apply to Kain and his motivations for being a Dragoon(Dragon Knight) to emulate his Father whom he was proud of.

Likewise Golbez was given his name from Zemus, his name being a reference to the Golubac fly that is born on a Dragon's Corpse. A possible reference to his new hate filled motivations born from Mysidians killing his Father and Childbirth killing his Mother.

Bahamut might very well be the entity that Rosa prays to, being the Hallowed Father of Eidolons, he fits a very Godly role and seems to be at the center of a lot of the games themes: Dragons, Fathers, Light and the Moon.

There is a Dark Elf in Final Fantasy 4, there are no other Elves ever mentioned or seen.

Among the encounters you can find in the final moon dungeon are Male Sorcerers and Female Warriors, possibly Lunarians who sided with Zemus.

Baigan says that Golbez has given him a great power but its more likely he was altered by Doctor Lugae, unless Golbez handed Dr. Lugae some Lunarian tech.

I like to imagine that they were Eidolons normally, albeit the element they each were part of was different in some way. For example, Leviathan would represent the sea at its darkest, deepest, and stormiest, while Cagnazzo would represent the ocean's tides. While Titan and Cockatrice are symbolic of the stone aspect of Earth, Scarmiglione (before being corrupted) was an idol for the life-giving nature of soil, almost like a nature god.

I'm actually toying with a fanfiction where the Fiends were kicked out because Cagnazzo was continuously being ordered by the Summoner of a coastal village to bring them food from the sea (he would pull them from the water with currents and splash the bounty in front of the villagers with a wave). He grew resentful of these people for using him to fetch them food, letting them become lazy, instead of defending them from their enemies, and so one day, he drew forth many strange creatures of the sea that the villagers had never seen before. He tells them that they are a special kind of fish, and so when the villagers eat them, the entire place is wiped out within a week from eating the poisonous food. Cagnazzo was banished, as were the other Fiends; Barbariccia was a friend who would stand up for him, Scarmiglione was his lover at the time and would never leave his side, and Rubicante defended his actions because he was being misused, and therefore justice had been served. Leviathan and Asura gave them the boot as well for being allies of his, and eventually, their hatred slowly changed them from Eidolons to... something else.

The story goes that Rydia had asked Leviathan and Asura about the Fiends whilst she lived amongst the Eidolons after finding a book that mentioned them, and she doesn't consider them until after the Giant of Babil. She was part of the group who defeated all of them, thereby giving her the right to Summon them, and so either during a bit of downtime or while they're on the moon, Rydia decides to give summoning them a try, starting small and going with Scarmiglione. I haven't entirely decided on how he interacts with her, but I'm thinking something along the lines of him showing her when he was what made the lands fertile and fed crops, orchards, grassy plains, and ancient forests. Throughout all of this, he's appearing to her with the illusion of himself in his former glory, rather than the wretch his is now, and deceptively begins to romance her. Whether she realizes what's going on before it goes too far is something I haven't decided yet.

Cagnazzo is known as the "Drowned King" possibly referencing a Title he had before transcending into a "Fiend".

In other languages the Elemental Fiends are referenced as "The Four Heavenly Kings' or the "Four Emperors".

Perhaps they were all some form of Ruler before transcending and finding themselves in Golbez's service.
