Well, technically those guys describe their music as "pico pico techno pop". Pico pico in Japan is generally referred to as the chiptune sound, but doesn't arbitrarily means that they MUST use original hardware to create such sounds (as "chiptune" implies in the west, I guess).
I just wanted to loosely describe their sound, but yeah they do a sort of punkish technopop with chiptunes sensibilities.
Main reason I posted that song was the DQ reference though.
