You can find a usb controller for any console version. The only point in having a physical console is for nostalgia sake, in which case you need the original system, not a physical emulator.

You may have to install an interface for devices like the Raspberry Pi 2 but I don't think it's that complicated.

You'd be amazed the amount of shit out there that still uses floppies.

I suspect >>2418079 was thinking that replacing a FDS floppy with a standard one might be a simpler procedure than emulating it. Many 26 pin floppy drives have the same belt problem as the FDS and are easily replaced with a standard floppy drive using a simple wiring adapter. Unfortunately the FDS uses a different seek mechanism so this won't work.

You could probably modify a floppy drive to seek like an FDS and use it as a replacement. This would allow you to use modern media but you have to write disks using fdsloader or something . A better solution might be to modify the firmware and connector on a floppy emulator to turn it into an FDS emulator. Then you'd just write your FDS images to an SD on your PC, pop it in the drive, and select the image like any other.

>> No.2419765

FDS were the original piracy device. Modern flash cartridges are derived from them. There's no reason to deal with problematic power supplies and lacking FDS support on a NES nowadays.

Some emulators need copyrighted files to run. It would be possible to sell those like Amiga Forever does.
Emulators are also like regular computer programs so if you pay for other software you may as well pay for emulators.
None of that applies to these kinds of things though.
