Am I the only person that actually prefers the GBC version of this game over the PS version?

>> No.2394709

Also I might add that I find the translation to actually be better and the story more fleshed out. Also the 3D and 2D aspects of the PSX version don't really gel well and things like walking around town and trying to figure out where you are can get cumbersome and annoying pretty quickly.

oh, and one other thing that only marginally has to do with this game, why is it that in almost every western release of a PSX RPG the main charecter was always protrayed as a little brat, was this in Sony's contract or something, I always thought that was dumb and only made me dislike the character more when they were portrayed this way.

It was pretty standard for any games in the 90s to feature main characters who were overflowing with 'tude.

It's just the time it was made. Executives likely were trying overly to get down with the kids.

Yes, OP. You're the only person in the whole wide world that prefers the GBC version of Azure Dreams.

Games that are better on portable devices general?

Getting the obvious one out of the way.

I always preferred Dragon Warrior 1+2 to the NES and SNES versions, but I'm probably in a minority there.

Nah, unless you have much love for ye olde english of the NES versions I'd say that's the definite version. Even the music sounds best on GBC.

Am I the only one who wants to resurrect Hitler's dog and give her a loving home free from Jewish vermin? Well, Erin, am I?

Protip: people are looking for validation when they ask "is it just me?". They don't actually think they are unique, they are looking to have something in common.
Don't be a dick and bond with them.

I kinda like the GBC rules more. It's like a prototype Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, except you're a trainer instead.

It feels weird after playing the PS1 version sometimes though. Did different people handle the localization?

If I could only find a fucking copy of this game for less than 30 bucks, I'd have an opinion for this thread. Shit.

Not actually retro, but this reminded me of Dark Void Zero, which unlike Dark Void is a legitimately awesome game.

You know you can play it for free in any number of ways, right? If only to check if you will actually enjoy the game. It's not like buying a used copy is actually supporting Konami or the original developers in any way.

Collecting is all well and good, but don't let it get in the way of your exploring more games.

Oh, true. But if possible I'd like to play it on a GBC. But I'm scared that if I get a flashcart, I'll have no more reason to collect.

I always preferred the NES version since I fucking love that overworld battle style. Why haven't more games copied that?

they're more comfy

but truthfully, I wish handhelds by default had cables that could hook up to tvs and turn them into sudoconsole games
