It seems to me that there is a growing trend of playing genuine cartridges on imitation hardware, and this appears to me to be totally backwards and retarded.
Take these clowns for example, using a Retron 5 when there's 3 of them and a whole load of other guys they work with that could obviously source a fucking console, if they're being given games for free. They even complained about the controller in one video, it's like Jesus, use some fucking proper hardware.

Is Earthbound rare? I thought I remember checking ebay on that not too long ago just out of curiosity and it seemed like a lot had recently sold and there were several options available.

I guess it is hard to define what "rare" really means in terms of mass-produced games. I think everyone can agree on rarity of things that were only distributed in limited quantity as prizes or other rewards, and stuff like prototypes that probably range from few (depending on how many prototype carts were distributed to stores and reviewers) to possibly one of a kind.

Off-topic, but eh. What do you guys personally consider to be rare?

Oh man, HPB used to be the shit years ago. It used to be a haven for retro games at reasonable prices, it was also good for finding shit like obscure imported anime & game artbooks & cheap animu DVDs. It's really gone downhill in the last few years with them going full ebay with their pricing, and there's also the matter of their online ebay-like shop, which is probably where all of the good shit is going.
