Hey /vr/. I've got a little problem. Today I bought a SNES and Megaman X. However, when I start Megaman X up on my new SNES it gets stuck on the title screen. I could skip the intro but now my controller doesnt respond.

Sell all of it on ebay and buy a Sega Genesis instead.

You're so funny. You goofball.

Anyway no idea OP but have a bump

It's most likely the star button, since you can skip the intro with any button but you can only skip the title screen with start.

I'd try with a different controller. If you don't have one available, disassemble the one you have and clean the contact in the circuit board and the rubber underside of the button with a q-tip moistened with rubbing alcohol.

>star button
*start button

Fuck

Sometimes that won't work cos the contacting layer hase come off due to wear, its a nice trick to just switch the rubber with the select buttons. Then Select won't work, but thats not used nearly as often. If it works with this trick you can get spare new rubbers from ebay cheap.

And you get a Sega CD. I mean really. What are you waiting for? Nintendo to make one?

>> No.2381114

This is why I use a flashcart.

1) download Snesx9
2) download Megaman X Rom
Problem solved :)

Like the difference between masturbating and having sex... it's just not the same

>> No.2381124

>>2381119
Come on, there's not such a great difference between playing on a real console and playing on an emulator. Just find a compatible controller and you're done. Also, roms and emulators are free.

also, I don't mind masturbating

Hey it's 4chan.. we all fap here. But I agree, not much different at all in reality but to me something about jamming that cartridge into the console and picking up that classic controller is just a different experience. That's just me though.
...
....
.....
.......also I have a hard time not using save states sometimes if I'm using an emulator.

>> No.2381139

>>2381124
Some emus don't have full compatibility and some emulation is not 1:1 perfect. Nitpick stuffs, but I would go for a flash cart.

> cheaper in the long run

> get to play on real hardware

> games run perfectly or how they were expected to on the system

> homebrew on real hardware

What bout the official nintendo eshop? If you have a wii u it means u can play on the big screen or even on the small one, its full authentic and not that xpensive either.

Most likely the game is just dirty. Get rubbing alcohol and wipe the contacts.

>> No.2381150

Virtual Console is alright. But your library is limited, and you're basically buying roms. I only use it for indie titles.

>> No.2381156

Probably really dirty components. Clean the contacts.

>> No.2381168

OP here. I found out what was wrong. I'm really fucking weak

>you're basically buying roms
All games are ROMs, regardless of whether it's a physical or digital version.

They got some of the best titles and its not a rip off like when i try to buy the classic cartridge. Also no fidling around with cables to get it to work with modern tv's, and also no fuzz about getting the right region code game to go with your system. Im in the pal region, the nes was even more of a pain than the snes becouse it had pal a,b,c so there are some extra troubles when you try to buy a 20 year old game. :3
