Why can't we talk about Playstation 2 and Gamecube here guys? I mean, seriously, /v/ only cares about new-gen and the sixth generation is already pretty old and retro.
It's time to accept and discuss those wonderful and neglected consoles.

Here is the one rule for /vr/:

"This board is for the discussion of classic, or "retro" games. Retro gaming means consoles, computer games, arcade games (including pinball) and any other games on platforms launched in 1999 or earlier. Sixth generation and later consoles are not considered retro."

Thats why

The honest answer is to avoid shitposting from sony fanboys.

I don't even think any true retro gamer shares this "15 years or older" rule /vr/ goes by. For me, any system that has mainly 3D games is not retro anymore.

lol'd. Go back to /v/ thanks.

The main problem has to do with the fact that the PS2 continued to receive new titles well into the 7th generation. That, and the Xbox 360 launched in 2005, when 6th gen consoles were still the main focus (Wii and PS3 weren't released until late 2006). Since there's this rather large overlap between the two generations, the people who wrote the rules probably felt that 6th gen discussion wouldn't be appropriate, as it would also lead to 7th gen discussion, which is definitely NOT retro.

That all being said, I would love it if 6th generation discussions were allowed here, because I have a lot of nostalgia for that era of gaming, and I agree, there isn't really a better place to discuss it here.

I love you
finally someone understands. /v/ doesn't have space to discuss this, threads are quickly archieved due to constant ps4/xone/gta discussions

It was the golden age of gaming. But /vr/ is afraid to admit it.

>> No.2346089

Is this going to be an "everyday until you liek it" sort of thing? The rules say pre-6th gen. As best I can tell, "Retro Games" is just shorthand while the actual rules dictate the full intent of the board, and that is pre-6th gen, not whatever each individual user interprets as being a retro game.

What do you mean? Golden age was 4th gen.

>>2346072

Halo will be /vr/'s final boss. Once that game is allowed in here, I'm out.
