Not exactly true. You pick his rage from a truly massive set of choices at the beginning of battle, and it's not too hard to find one that is useful in any given situation. He easily out-damages anyone in WoB, and is solidly on the upper half of the party's power curve for WoR.

Plus, you can get around his limitation if you need to by petrifying (or killing) him, which ends his rage. Or having him cast spells instead of raging. Hell, I took Gau through the tower of magic bullshit to get the gem box, and while not spectacular, his spellcasting was far from useless.

Dude Rose was so fucking weak at the end of the game. I dont know if I just missed out on a weapon or something but I couldnt even use Rose in boss battles. Her dragoon magic which used to be her strength ends up doing very little damage compared to others. I mainly used Haschel, Albert, and Muru. I found them to be the most effective

You use mind control (I forget the spell name) on a creature to force it to cast angels snack on the party. It's in some random bumfuck creature's spell list but they won't use it. You have to kind of use the mind control to 'hack it'.

Angel's Snack is fucking broken. Take Quina to the last boss with Angel's Snack for laughs. He completely dominates Necron by making all it's status ailments trivial.

Well Kongol was the character I used least. Maybe Rose is better than him and Shana. I still feel Rose is one of the weaker party members. Albert is a must because of his ability to cut damage for all party members, Haschel's additions did crazy damage, and Muru was balanced in magic and physical attacks.

What are you guys talking about? With her limit, Yuffie is one of the most powerful characters in the game. She also has the ONLY weapon that can do full-power on Morph. The power tiers with end game on FF7 is, due to stats, quickness of getting limit breaks (percent damage taken), and their max damage through multi-hit limits is:
Cloud
Barrett/Cid
YUFFIE.
And Yuffie ends up being better than Cid simply because she is a back-row character, meaning she takes less damage, but deals the same amount.

Rose is an awful character because her dragon magic sucks, her additions are average and most of the enemies later on have a dark affinity, so that means she does half damage to them, while light enemies are pretty much non existant outside of Shirley's dungeon.

The most powerful team in this game is Dart(because you need to have him, otherwise he would be replaced by Albert), Haschel, Meru. Speed trumps this game and Haschel and Meru have strong as fuck additions to add to their speed(Haschel even has a weapon that's similar to Robo's crisis arm that he deals more damage the lower his hp is)

Rose is good first disc until you get Haschel because she's one of two with a spirit and has high attack/magic. Also you're forced to use her a bit. Unfortunately Astral Drain is gimped and Demon's Gate is totally useless because it only works on minor enemies.

There was only one thing that ever made Rose good after that, and that was the very last weapon given to you is her's and it's the strongest thing ever. Probably something from the devs to say "yeah Rose is pretty useless outside of the summon, here's something to even that out a little for the last boss."
