A little bit. You race on roads in seemingly habitable areas. Some are more farm like, some are dense cities, probably a lot inbetween. I remember my favorite part of the races were the shortcuts - breaking through a pile of boxes to zoom through an alleyway or going off a jump over a stone wall was pretty great, although it probably doesn't sound that great to comparable racing games.
There was also a pretty interesting battle mode where you had to collect different colored beetles to win, but being attacked made you lose them, and they spawned in certain locations.
It wasn't a fantastic game but much better than you'd expect.

yeah I just watched a youtube video and that's the one.
this game is like a collectathon racing game, and I don't mean that as an insult. Think the bananas or fruits from diddy kong racing and crash team racing, the more crates you break the faster you run. In practice this meant that going through every route through the level at least once to break more creates was the best strategy. there really was a lot of exploring to do and stuff to unlock, great stuff

Got this game in a lot from some random dude on craigslist. This was one of the 5 games, I assumed they were all cheap common games. It was only going for $20 on ebay at the time.

Great game, reminds me of Saint Sword/Shinobi on the Genesis. I can't really get to far, but when I play my Neo Geo AES, I always go back to this little gem.
