Sup /vr/, just bought one of these bad boys, but sadly it did not come with a power supply. I need a power supply that works properly in American outlets. I've heard that the American Sega Master System and Genesis 1 power supplies work, but I didn't want to risk frying my system.

Does anyone have any recommendations for specific power supplies for this system?

Get a Japanese one?

not sure how practical this would be, but to me it seems like it would be safer just to buy the original power supply and a converter for american wall plugs.

You don't need a step down. Especially for those kinds of power supplies.

ah, didn't know, I have never dealt with japanese electronics personally. So OP is just being dumb then?

Idk

Some people go nuts with step downs but I've never had a problem. The Euros have used 240v to 120v for Jap stuff for a long time also.

Is there a way to translate a sfc cartridge? I would really like to play smt 2 on my sfc in english.

I use a Master System power brick with mine. Never had a problem.

Can't you just use an american SNES power supply? I don't think the difference between US and Jap voltage is different enough to matter, and even if it were, an AC adapter converts whatever its supposed to (ie, your american adapter for american outlets) to the same voltage/current for snes/sfc/pal snes/whatever.

use a genesis model 1 or a master system power supply, it will work without any problems.

Amazon.

you don't need a voltage converter for the US. the console runs on DC anyway and 100-120 is the operating range of the adapter. it's totally fine.

>>2282721
other than burning a new EPROM and soldering it in, no

>>2282842
You can't, the pin connector is different. But you are right that the difference between 100 & 120 doesn't matter.

Yeah. A Genesis one.
