Face Shrine, Manbo's Mambo, and Tal Tal Heights are some of the highlights.

People often compare it to ALTTP the same way people compare MM to OoT. The game is different, and it's a good thing. Speaking solely about the content, it's easily one of my favorite games in the series; Good music, comfy graphics (with the non-dx version), and really good gameplay. It's easily a 10/10 in my book.

Try not to spoil too much of the game before you play it. I only picked it back up in my 20s, and didn't beat it until last year. Not a day before that did I ruin the ending for myself.

What's happened to this board in the last month? I swear things have gotten a lot worse very recently. Did something happen on /v/ to cause an exodus?

In response to OP, you're looking at a very robust game with occasionally obtuse puzzles, and it remains one of the best Zelda games simply because you get a fucking pet chain chomp to follow you around and wreck shit. But the real answer is that you are in for something you were interested in enough to buy and play, so you should play it.

I'm pretty sure it's like one guy shitting up about eshop purchases, but you guys need to remind yourselves that just because a site online has tons of these games for free, it doesn't rob them of their value. Frankly, the 5-7 bucks Nintendo wants for them are very reasonable if you don't mind it being a virtual box on a modern machine.
I'm not bashing piracy (in fact I have a GBA flashcart being shipped to me now), but you shouldn't bash people who don't want to pirate.

>> No.2280207

I am a huge fan of Zelda 1 and Link to the Past, but LA didn't entice me at all, which leads me to believe it's a hit and miss Zelda title, but that doesn't seem to be the norm on the Internet. I'd say try it out properly even if you don't initially don't care for it, perhaps that was my mistake.

Not sure if it has been fixed in DX, but you can get the bow for much less. You need at least 980 rupees to purchase it. Once you buy it, immediately walk out and bring up the save menu, save the game, and restart. Since the price is detracted one rupee at a time (as in, it doesn't instantly detract 980 from your total), you will be able to pay for it for much less than the asking price.

I never said it was, pal. I'm just reporting my observations. Don't turn this into one of those threads either.

The main issue with this board is that people from /v/ are migrating over and bringing the /v/ attitude with them. This isn't really a place to be confrontational about vidya. All the polarizing controversial stuff to talk about happened at least 15 years ago, there's no reason to get pissy about it. All console wars have been decided. Someone earlier in the thread called me a Nintendrone for saying a company should be able to charge for their product, and collecting has made me idort as fuck. Is it so hard for people to just get the fuck along and talk about vidya?

Jesus what a terrible thread.

Link's Awakening is a serious contender for best game ever made, taking into account hardware limitations and when it was produced. I mean, to have such a massive, complex, interlocking world and such diverse gameplay on a tiny cart with a monochrome screen, and two channel sound from a musical christmas card speaker, and achieve such a range of feelings... woah.

When you get to the part where you're trying to bring down the tower, and you can't figure out how to get the wrecking ball where you need it to go, what you have to do is bounce it off of a wall, it will actually go over the blocks behind you and you'll be able to go around and pick it up from the other side.

That was the most annoying part for me, played it before we had internet. So no help.

Other than that, this game was awesome and incredibly atmospheric. I mean it really feels like an adventure.

Its a great game, though I always felt that it was a bit more empty than the oracles games. Though its still probably one of the best, certainly within the top 5, GB/C games.
Just play it and see for yourself. Then go play Seasons and Ages if you haven't already.

>>2280161
>Did something happen on /v/ to cause an exodus?
yes, though not to here.

>>2280729
As to the quality of the board dropping, IMO /vr/ started to turn to shit after the second month. And its only gotten worse with time, a lot more angry people, a lot more younger anons, and a lot more divide between emulator/hardware and crt/flatscreens, among other things. We did a survey back in the first few of the board and found out that most of the browsers were in their late 20's, early 30's, and found that most of the browsers owned at least some form of hardware (though "collectors" were in the minority) Then we did another one about six-ish months later and found that the number of younger browsers had almost tripled, and that the percentage of emulator fags vs collector fags had grown a lot more as well. We were supposed to have another one right about now but the guy who used to run them got kicked for posting about other sites on /sp/.
Now that I think about it, I might go get the OP template from him if he still has it and run the next one.
