Guys, I hit the retro motherlode. My friend's mom was cleaning out her basement and almost threw all of this away, so he brought it back and gave it to me. Contents are as follows:

SNES with complete hookups, but busted power port (it's a $12 fix)

And I never realized how much super nintendos go for online. Those things are overpriced as fuck. Especially when geneses cost 20-30 bucks with controllers+cables+shipping included. so any snes found for cheap is cool, even if you have to fix it up. And it's not yellow, so that's a plus.

My cousins still have a ton of genesis/snes/nes/ps1 stuff tucked away in their basement. Not sure if they still use any of it. I might see if I can get some of their stuff, but only if they don't use it anymore.

I don't know where the fuck you live where there is a box full of retro consoles "at most garage sales" but I really want to live there. it may not be a "motherlode" but it is still a sweet as shit find. Coming across a retro console here in the states (at least Texas where I am) is basically a fucking jackpot. People aren't normally going to sell an old video game console without checking ebay first. Then it just ends up being overpriced shit there.
