I just got home from the bar where this bad bastard was sitting. I shit you not the ball went right down the middle all 3 times. I remember reading that the ball itself is lob sided. I can't seem to remember the term to look it up though.

Anyone know if pinball machines are rigged with magnets or lob sided tables or balls?

Never played ACDC but i've heard nothing but good things about it.
Pinball machines aren't "rigged" but I've come across poorly maintained ones that are far more difficult than they should be.
And how can a ball be lobsided?

>> No.2257763

A table can be lopsided but a ball is a ball. I used to think the same thing about magnets in the Robocop pinball I used to play but the truth of the matter is that the game makes you get worked up so any ball drain is a big disappointment.

Nudging might help?

I've heard the term Englished Balls or something like it where the ball is weighted differently. I just find it hard to believe that the ball goes right down the damn center every time unless it's made to do it.

You're just terrible at pins, Anon-kun.

I'm starting to believe that. The Elvira machine is tip top. I can go for a while on that one. The ACDC machine seems to simply steal my quarters with no recourse.

Then learn to nudge? I've played this machine a bit to and its fairly easy to nudge a ball off the centre drain path.

So there is a drain path where the ball goes more towards the center? I'm not a pinball guy until recently. I only started playing pinball again in the past few years off and on.

I got that same table where I buy my vape juice. Tis a cruel mistress.

The balls can become pitted over time and that can effect gameplay or so I've heard.

>>2257730
The only way I know of that someone can rig a pin is to raise the height of the table passed the reconmended settings.

They get beat up and knocked around a lot. They can become pitted, chipped, and just overall unbalanced.

>>2257774
All the playfields I know of are completely flat. I think what he meant was the space between the flippers, where you can no longer hit the ball.

If it's rigged to roll straight into the trough, the table is probably unbalanced. Or you just really suck at pinball. Maybe don't pull the plunger all the way back next time?

It's about gitting gud

Seriously the first few times I played The Sopranos I hated it as all I was getting was the ball straight down the middle. After learning the table and knowing the shots I was able to avoid the SDTM and get decent scores. I actually really like the fucking table now that I'm good at it. Some tables take a little time and money before they grow on you. I'm sure nobody beat Mortal Kombat the on the first credit they played.
