In my memory the graphics were monochrome but I remember that sun and the gameplay explanation is pretty much what I remember, the date and the OS fits. I may have been three years old.

A bit later I remember our floppy disc collections with cga games like ace of aces, f1 (cant remember the name but it was made by accolade and i rreemember the music) and some more high end stuff like stunts.

i dont think it was possible to play gorillas on monochrome, you could however play nibbles on monochrome.

this is coming from a cga tandy 1000 though.

probably the best part about those two games were taking them apart, though. when I was maybe 10 years old i had rewritten nibbles to have a third player, it was good times. although try getting three people on one keyboard. ghosting, ye gods.

However, I remember playing an Atari 7800 and the game I think it was called Defender but the purpose of the game was that you were a tank in a maze and you had to shoot all these targets sitting at the top of the screen but there would be other tanks trying to chase you.

Back when Windows 95 was still a thing and the best we could get was a monochrome monitor, my dad's friend loaded a bunch of classic arcade titles onto a series of floppy disks for my sisters and I because he was a cool fucking dude.
Probably my first experience with a video game of any kind was loading up Asteroids because my mom said it was her favorite arcade game. I had some good times with it, and then one day my dad brought home a NES that my cousin got rid of along with at least 50 games.

Pac-Man, when I was 3.

Was at a hospital pediatrics clinic. Family went there for my doctor appointments because it had a shorter line than a regular pediatric clinic. The lobby had Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Space Invaders, and Yoshi's Cookie/Dr. Mario in the lobby. All on freeplay.

This was my first ever game. To this day I still have it on my shelves. I enjoyed it a lot, surprisingly, probably because I didn't know any better; at least at that time the controls didn't feel clunky. Hard to play it nowadays - I still have a few instinctive reflexes, but not nearly enough to try and beat it again.

I had access to a few computers before that (C128, MO5), but always in school and always with serious utilities. As a kid I didn't understand why these machines were introduced to us as being super duper important, since we only did some basic math on it. Well, we were fine with single digit additions on a piece of paper too, so, meh.
