Fuck yeah new thread. You guys are great at answering my shitty questions.

A question about peep pathfinding: how do they navigate wide paths?

I ask because I had this problem in a recent game:
>build strip of path three blocks wide to be the focal area of my park
>put a few rides along either side
>one roller coaster is making peeps sick
>place a first aid room across from the exit on the other side of the path, three blocks forward
>sick peeps wander in all directions away from the exit and cake my park in vomit

Fucking top tier game even with these little niggles. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and it is eating up my spare time.

Guests rarely seek out first aid rooms, you pretty much have to coerce them into going to them. Basically, if I want guests to go to a first aid or souvenir stall of sorts after a ride, I make the exit path branch off into two places, so if they turn left, they're free, but if they turn right, they get a stall. Sick guests WILL enter a first aid stall if the path they are on ends at the stall.
Benches are still the best course of action against nausea.

>I nearly knocked my front teeth out when I smashed my face on the safety bar. My Dad let me on ( I was 8 ) my Mum had nipped to the loo. I can remember her screaming hang on as the ride started. She was furious with him for ages Lol. This does not do the turns justice they really are vicious. X x

I thought a push into using land purchasing mechanics would be interesting, but do what you want. On the other hand, I guess there's not really any point where you'd be forced to expand, given that there's less of a chance your park could end up like this.

It depends on the situation. Those little one-car trains don't hold a lot of momentum even when full, so it's pretty easy to design them as a continuous circuit ride. Are there shops beside the bathroom that guests actually enter? You could probably reskin a bathroom to look like a carnie game, if you add custom animations and whatnot.

Alrighty, I think I've fixed everything in the vpack that had missing objdata. A couple of them, namely Rick and Morty's Futuristic Funland and Water Temple refuse to export a few files for some reason. Funland won't retain jaSkyRdr.DAT and Water Temple won't retain a few Amazing Earl rides, even though other scenarios save them just fine. Anyone ever have a problem like this?

Either way it's not a big deal, these files are easy to find elsewhere.

Oh, I just discovered something interesting. There was a file in the vpack from who knows how long ago called rift.SC6 that didn't show up ingame. Whoever made it must have forgotten to complete the save process in the editor and left it as a landscape. So I opened it up and saved it as a scenario. It's quite pretty.

Well if someone feels up to the challenge, go ahead and try to finish it in the original creator's style. I would but I suck at scenario editing. I've updated the vpack to include it.

On another note, whoever made Cranberry Canyon did a pisspoor lazyass job. Not only was the description full of typos, there were mixed clusters of construction rights for sale all over the place. I took the liberty and cleaning it up.

Well, it's not a time-based objective, so you could start by expanding into the surrounding squares. After that, there's loads of land/construction rights to buy, so there's a lot of expansion you could do.
The research tree should give you everything you need to succeed. Including large rollercoasters.

Hey guys, I've just finished almost all of the standard maps in RCT1 and now I'm trying out RCT2, the biggest problem I have is that unless the level gives me massive amounts of money I can't make enough income because I'm used to being able to charge for both ride and park entry.
Does anyone have decent blueprints as to what are good prices for rides when you can only charge on them? I'm used to charging ~£1 on most gentle rides and simple thrill rides, £2-4 on log flumes, roller coasters and bigger thrill rides and then a £1-2 on transport. Am I doing it wrong?

>> No.2292602

A good rule of thumb is excitement rating = price.
You can go higher with certain types of rides like Go Karts, River Rapids and high-excitement roller coasters.

You probably never figured it out, but in RCT1 if you had free admission to the park, guests would pay over double for ride admission, and vice versa for park admission if rides are free. Same applies for RCT2.

I fixed up a couple of things. First off, on the circle after the metal building, there was a piece of track that should've been but wasn't banked.

Secondly, I reduced the length of the helix.

It's still probably terrible, but at least there's improvement.
