someone drew the Ecco cover entirely in oekaki back in 2010, and the only reason you can tell it apart from the original painting is because the sega logos are off.

>> No.2238883

>Ecco
>relaxing
Except for that brief beginning part this game is not relaxing at all. Gameplay is very tense because you're always worried about running out of air, and those auto-scrolling levels towards the end'll make your hands sweat for sure

>> No.2238893

Actually I don't think I have played that game, I just uploaded because I couldn't think of any examples, it looks like I couldn't have picked up a worse example.

>> No.2239064

>>2238876
LOL, I'll grant that drawing in oekaki is tough, but that looks like a super shitty fanart copy. Ignoring that there's no worth in straight copying an image other than pure practice, the final result is hilariously bad.

>But the teeth on that shark and the direction of Ecco's nose are also different.

Only if you explicitly compare the image to the cover.

If it is just posted out of context, the only noticeable thing are the logos being thinner.

There's no way I'm wasting any of my time doing oekaki. I'm just pointing out if you think those look anything close to identical you need to have your eyes checked. Ecco's face looks awful.

Here is a piece I'm working on at the moment though just as a reference.

i googled it, it means the Japanese term used to describe the act of drawing a picture. For god sake just use the term fan art.

>> No.2239597

>>2239590
Then you didn't google hard enough. Oekaki refers pretty specifically to browser based drawings, it's pretty much drawing in MS paint but through a browser.

For the most part, Shenmue is the perfect chill out simulator. Try to collect all the capsule toys, master that classic arcade game, pet the neighborhood kitten, hang out with Tom or search for your father's murderer. It's all good.

None of the series, save the Jr. one for kids, is relaxing. If you're not straining for air, wrestling with Giant flying jellyfish, or getting devoured by a great white you're fighting aliens that want to devour the seas of all life. This series is brutal .

No it not enough anon!
OP need to learn all the suffering kids around the world had to endure because of this game.

We all get tricked for that cover "oh look it a game about a cute dolphin !" but we all end up with trauma for having to endure all the shit that game throw at you, and it wasn't just the hard as a coffin nail levels (because you know the ocean is not big and wide but a succession of exiguous cave mazes where if you don't die of asphyxia anything else will kill you.

Just that brutal vortex storm at the beginning would make any small kid cry, everything was also weird and sad,the music, having to talking to dying whale and giant DNA,time travels, the ruins and ecco screaming all the time!

My sister avoided this game like plague when we were kids.
Years after that, when i got the DC version, she really lost her shit and it wasn't for nostalgia or something like that,No, it was pure hate and revulsion.

That Ecco The Dolphin for you.

>> No.2245047

Anyone else finding the opening/title theme to Ecco: Tides of Time, to be really fucking creepy?
It still gives me the chills. Like, Silent Hill music tier chills.

Also, I agree, Ecco is far from relaxing. Those games will make you pretty anxious. Wonder what a modern day Ecco game done in the same dark creepy style would be like? A sea-life version of Silent Hill?
