So in Bomberman canon is he a robot or a man with a helmet? I think the first one he was a robot who became human because of the allusion to Lode Runner, but I never knew how that all worked out.

Anyone else feel the way I do that the in-game character designs for BM64 were the best? The perfectly round head, torso, and limbs just seems to fit so perfectly for that universe.

Bomberman World was my first. Didn't even own the game either, just played it over and over again off of PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc 15. Every single time we played we had no choice but to get one round, 3 minutes, standard stage, all items, and all computers (I swear, I think they were on hard). At the end of the match the game would go right back to the demo disk main menu and we had to load it up all over again. It took forever. But the demo was compatible with the PlayStation Multitap! We already had one to play Blast Chamber.
So we played on the same stage with the same rules with up to 4 players (1 CPU) while loading for minutes between every match... for hours. Good times.

I have the full game ISO now. I can run it on ePSXe. For Android. Using my DS3 as a bluetooth controller.

Also, isn't it still possible to play Bomberman Saturn online these days?

it was meant to be an xbox live only title but microsoft fucked up the schedule or something
there's a bit of a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW: single player mode is just a series of vs cpu matches with no continues and there's NO LOCAL MULTIPLAYER and since no one plays that shit online and single player is nonexistent, that means the game is entirely pointless now

Wario Blast AKA It's a Fucking Bomberman Game, was the one I grew up with. My most played game on the original GameBoy outside of Pokemon.

It took me years to be able to figure out how to beat the final boss. Also, hidden in the instruction manual was a password that let you start the game with every power-up. I discovered it by myself which I was pretty smug about at 8 years old.

I grew up with a DOS clone, one among many (but IMO one of the better, if not the best).
Would play that gathered around the keyboard with my bros.
It had a level editor too, was really awesome when I discovered that one.

Wonder if you can still find that particular clone on the net. I remember having some difficulty finding it in the early 2000s (why I was searching I do not remember since I had, and still have the .EXE stowed away somewhere)
