Just picked this up. Now I need to remove that damn for sale label. Any suggestions?

Goo gone and a coin. You don't even have to worry because the sticker wasn't on the label.

I successfully removed the label using a hair dryer since that's what I had available. I angled it downward so it was not pointing toward the game label. I would like to report that as a success and I cleaned up the residual goo with some rubbing alcohol combined with a towel to scrub it. While I was at it I also rubbed the pins with the alcohol with a q-tip and dried it with the other end.

Now here's my next issue:
I plugged in my NES, and now the red light is blinking when I turn it on. Could this indicate something or is my power supply just shorting?

Looks like some cotton from the q-tip somehow was lodged in the pins...

The label is critical for Final Fantasy to play. Your broke the game and probably bricked your NES by trying to run it.

...anyway, take a cotton swab (or 20) and rubbing alcohol and clean the shit off of the contacts on the bottom of the cart.

Blow drying it is effective but that can potentially expose the game to high temps and maybe fuck some shit up.

I use a combination of equal parts baking soda and coconut oil. It's a bit more work than Goo Gone, but it gets the job done completely and leaves the area smelling good. Which is a plus when 80% of retro games I have ever purchased end up smelling like they were sitting in a smoker's room for years before I got them.

One thing though, it muddied the clear plastic film on my Genesis' cases. You can only tell if you hold it at an angle in sunlight but it's worth noting.

I did clean the pins on the cart with a qtip and rubbing alcohol but somehow a piece of cotton has made its way inside my NES to the connections there. See the pic above and look for the white stuff in the pins.

I find that escaping battles is 90% of the original game, since you can just grind and skip most of the dungeons by running away almost 100% with a thief

This is the story I'm sharing with my friends about what happened so I thought I'd share with you guys too:

I stopped by Gamer's Paradise today and I found the original Final Fantasy! I cleaned up the cart and pop'd that bad boy into my NES only to find that my childhood friend wasn't feeling too well. It was having issues reading games. So I tried just about everything I could think of to get it going, including dismantling and cleaning her up. But it still wasn't looking good, the issues persisted no matter what I did so I sighed and accepted the death of my NES.

I was upset. I reassembled my NES and went to grab my FC Twin (an emulator) so I could at least play FF while I mourned. But before that I decided for old times sake to throw in Contra and turn it on out of hope.

AND IT WORKED! I've never been so excited to see that old familiar loading screen in my life! And in a surprising twist, my little black cat must be a gamer girl because she couldn't stop watching the screen either!

So yeah, that's my Friday night

OP here, time to decide my party.

I really want to use Red Mage again and I've never tried a Thief. I played whatever version was ported to the iPhone back in 2009 so this is my first time playing the original version.

I'm thinking about:
>Fighter
>Thief
>Red Mage
>Black Mage

Opinions?

Why on earth would you attempt to clean any part of a game with oil? Any oils will leave residue or film and coconut oil solidifies under around 75 degrees F. Of course it muddied the clear plastic of your case, ITS COCONUT OIL. No offense, but that was not a good idea

for about the first 10-15 levels, use nunchuku. after the early game, the monks bare fist deals out more damage so just unequip.
he starts off slow, but becomes a better offensive weapon as he levels up. by late game, the monk will deal out the most damage of all.
he is a glass cannon with weak defense though, which is why I put him on the third row.

Some genesis games I own smell like a cigarette smoke. Not really something I want to be smelling.

I also already mentioned I mix the oil with baking soda that makes it more of a paste that's easier to remove, but reading comprehension is hard for you apparently.

Stay retarded.

>> No.2214947

Also forgot to mention, the other options I've heard about aren't worth it for me. Lighter fluid is flammable fuck that. And the oil+baking soda mix is cheaper than goo gone assuming you are a functional adult. My gf has coconut oil for her skin and I have baking soda in my fridge to help absorb odor anyway.

The mix of baking soda + most organic oils turns into a thick paste at room temperature. You keep assuming it has the consistency of regular oil. When you rub it in sticker gunk it starts turning into little flakes thanks to the baking soda. In fact, I guess I have to make this clear for your dumb ass, the baking soda is what's cleaning the fucking gunk off, the oil is there to simply make it into a paste. The most work I've ever done to remove any residue is simply pour a few dabs of soap water onto a rag, pass it over the area, then with a dry rag pass over again 1-2 times and it's good.

Man, I can't believe there's neckbeards about fucking sticker residue solutions.

You know what, my gf said she switched to grapeseed oil when we titfuck because it's the easiest oil to wipe off she's come across. Will definitely try it out next time I have any sticker gunk on a cartridge again, I've cleaned off all my shit so far with the coconut oil + baking soda mix already. Again, this does not work great on clear plastic on cases, leaves it all fogged up and shit.

Insert the cartridge into the system, plug in and power on the cosole, then submerge everything in vegetable glycerin for approximately 12 hours.

After time is up, remove the system from the glycerin bath, remove the cartridge, and use an abrasive sponge to clean off any excess glycerine.

Now take a jar if peanut butter and pleasure yourself with it. Once you've finished, make a paste of the peanut butter and your "pleasure residue". Take this paste and smear it all over the offending sticker. Take the coated cartridge and resubmurge it in the vegetable glycerin bath and Let it sit for another 12 hours. After that time, remove the cartridge from the glycerin and use your gf's breasts to remove the excess glycerine and peanut butter paste.

Now throw the cartridge away and tittyfuck your gf using the vegetable glycerine/peanut butter mixture.

See, sticker is all gone and the cartridge smells great!
