What with this game? is it good? shit? its a rare game?

>> No.2201323

I enjoyed the hell out of it. Wasn't a fan of the Genesis version back in the day, but that's a dated opinion I'm willing to rectify.

I loved it.
Made a nice change from the turn based type RPG's.

Why so many question marks? Is this information urgent or something?

>> No.2201336

I'm not sure about the rarity, but I loved the Genesis edition. I haven't played SNES, but they're too different games.

Man I never know where to start with any of these 16 western RPGs.

Love the GEN Shadowrun, but damn it's one grindy game. At least early on. And the late game too now I think about it. Mid game isn't too bad, but early on when all you can really do are 50-200nuyen jobs it takes forever to save up the money for decent gear. And late game is a nightmare for hackers. Program costs $250,000. You lose 4 in hack job, only make about $50,000 total for the data and job combined. You basically get to spend hours doing easy hack jobs to save up the money for the high level programs for the serious hack jobs you have to do.

Love the game, but they really should have balanced it a bit better.

Definitely Eye of the Beholder.

But emulate the PC version in DOSBox for a better experience.

I meant more what do I even do.
Although, I imagine a lot of the problems I had with beholder won't be in the DOS version but if I do that, the SNES will have won

Stop what you're doing.
Even die hard EOTB veterans hold that the best version of the game is arguably the Mega/Sega CD version. The amazing soundtrack is one of the the central reasons.

I have recently gotten a Sega CD emulator working pretty well.

Still could use some starter advice on the controls or navigating or something.

Its the great disadvantage of the Mega CD version, really. Using the controller is a complete fiasco, so make sure you use the mouse, which the Mega CD thankfully supports.

You are limited to just the mouse, though, so you'll never have optimal controls. Not that any variation of EOTB's controls were ever particularly optimal. It's a pretty wooden game to drive.
