Now that the dust has settled: YES it's a cozy game and YES it's perfect, but does anyone else get a little bothered by the artificial difficulty 20 years after the fact? Not to mention the lazy dual world mechanics, inflated weapon system, and the octoroks (I could go on).

I'm starting to think you guys just like this game for its retro feel.

What artificial difficulty? The game gives you more than enough equipment to deal with the enemies and bosses in the games. Fairies are free, and potions are cheap.

Dual world is an extension of the paralleled layer mechanics that are used throughout the game.

You're going to have to elaborate about what you mean about the weapon system, or the octoroks. I can think of 2 dozen enemies that are more frustrating than them.

Damn, are you complaining about needing to press a button? Wouldn't you like the game to play itself too?

What was the point of including dim corridors besides to belabor getting to the next room for 10 seconds? Same with not allowing Link to swim from the get go, it's not a real challenge to navigate from point A to B just to activate a function you should've had from the start.

I agree.

let's not forget how the game looks bland and washed out, the music drones on repetitively, and even the enemies are unoriginal ripoffs from zelda 1.

getting turned into a bunny by yellow stars was definitely artificial difficulty.

to add on, the worst part was the rainy intro. one time the game glitched and my screen got wet because of it.

ITT a few people make stock replies about how it's bait/trolling and the rest acting stupid thinking it's funny or entertaining but ultimately only bringing more actual stupid people to this board and encouraging the behavior.

I remember when this board report/ignored things like an automated system, now they just let things like this constantly hit the front page and do nothing.

...you mean Zelda style adventure gameplay?

>> No.2190469

>>2190432
No, he really doesn't.
Link to the Past took a lot of steps forward in bringing 3D gameplay into the zelda world and Ocarina of time expanded on those ideas in a lot of interesting ways that are still followed today.

Instead of talking about any of that, though, he just drones on about bomb bowling.

Fuck yeah bro Turok rules

Favorite weapon was the razor wind in turok 2, with the chronoscepter a close second.

I always liked playing the entrails in rage wars, but I didn't play a whole lot of that one so I don't remember much about it.

The one on GameCube was pretty cool too but I didn't dig the reboot but I only played the demo.

Cyber t Rex was best boss
