It took probably a year for my sister and I to make it past child Link in OOT because neither of us noticed the entrance to Zora's River from Hyrule Field. Also, later during that playthrough I used the bottle glitch on Bombchus because I thought they were useless, which they were until that one room in Ganon's Castle.

I also accidentally erased my friend's (nearly completed) Banjo Kazooie save because sexy Grunty freaked me out as a kid and I turned the console off and back on too quickly.

Besides that, I also spoiled all the puzzles in Myst for myself because I was too young to logic my way through them but old enough to read my dad's strategy guide.

I know you're trying as hard as you can to be edgy, but the topic here is the poor context in which you name your rival in GSC.

In RBY it's quite explicit:
"Oh yes, my grandson, what was his name again?" [Name entry screen].

But in GSC the dude explicitly refers to himself as ???. A police officer then asks you for his name, and as a well-adjusted, obedient child you do not lie to the cop and instead input the only moniker by which this individual referred to himself: "???"
It was dumb on Gamefreak's part, and they remedied it somewhat in HGSS by showing you the dude's trainer card.

Because of this it took me so long, and I remember, once I finally managed to kill boss, I was so overjoyed to finally be able to progress. Shortly after, you find another boss, that crablike thing, and I was just so puzzled as to how there could be so many bosses in short succession because I had to rely so heavily on items to get me through, on account of my unorthodox playing style. Huh. Whenever I hear Stardust Speedway (JP) past version, I always think of some back alley in New York or something, maybe during the late 70s/ early 80s. Lots of overhead power lines and it's always right before sunset when everything has an orange cast to it. I don't know why it's such a specific image but that's what I imagine.

Best example I could find on google was something like this but at ground level.

I use to put a penny into the cartridge slot of my SNES every time before I played a game when I was four. I don't remember why I use to do it though. A bunch of pennies accumulated at the bottom of the housing over time.

One day (I was still four) I saw a triangle shaped hole on the back of my SNES, which made it look as if someone had dropped it and chipped a piece off, that I had never noticed before. I didn't know how it got there, but I assumed it was broken and didn't work anymore without even trying to turn it on. I told my dad that the SNES was broken which he probably took as "it's non-functioning" and assumed I tried turning it on before telling him. He put it away somewhere and I never saw it again, but I thought nothing of it because as far as I knew, it was broken. Eventually, I forgot about the SNES.
Years later, when I was fourteen, I remembered about it. I asked my dad what happened to the SNES and he told me "I put it away because it was broken because you put pennies in it, but we probably forgot it when we moved out of the apartments". I then remembered that my dad put it away because I told him it was broken, only because I saw the hole at the back of it. I figured that my dad didn't even bother to check if it really was broken before he put it away either, since he couldn't even remember why he really put it away. I realized neither of us knew if it was really broken or not when he put it away. Then I remembered I never had any problems with the SNES before I saw that hole that day. At that moment, I realized that it still worked when my dad put it away. All those years I could've still had my SNES were lost because I saw the small hole at the back of it that could have been there the entire time.

One I did ages ago and never found out how to do again to this day.

>Be 6-7
>Playing Hey you pikachu! for months
>One day go with pikachu to cobalt island for treasure hunting
>Get to the higher beach where the abandoned outpost is.
>Walk up to the board walk, pikachu runs ahead
>Get to where butterfree normally is and the ship canons.
>Turn camera and investigate the treasure chest buried down below us
>"Pikachu is inspecting the cannon..."
>Suddenly turn around, pikachu is standing on the cannon
>"Pikachu is inspecting the Cannon...."
>Call him over to get the treasure instead
>"Pikachu has fallen into the cannon!"
>FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
>BOOM
>CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa
>Pikachu goes flying across the island and straight into the sand of the other side
>Camera imediately pulls me all the way to the other island on a track
>Pikachu is headfirst in the sand, tail and feet up.
>Call to pikachu in panic
>"Pikachu is playing dead..."
>"Pikachu is playing dead..."
>"Pikachu is playing dead..."
>"Pikachu is playing dead..."
>"Pikachu woke up"
>Gets up rubs the back of its head, then runs off and gets interested in a durian

I've never had it happen to this day, and nothing about it ever shows up online, has anyone else had a similar experience with this?
