Recommend me some good not necessarily detective/crime point-n-clicks. Loved games like Grim Fandango, Westwood's Blade runner, Gemini Rue and Face Noir.

Gabriel Knight

>> No.2119578

Deja Vu, hard boiled adventure brought to you by the Shadowgate/Uninvited dudes

I dunno how it compares to the games you mentioned though, I'm familiar with them

I guess I don't have any useful advice

Sorry I just like to push the post button, I'm so lonely and it makes me happy to think somebody might read something I wrote

Seconding GK. Wait a few days or so and the sale on them will come back.

>> No.2119587

Police Quest?
Only played one (3 I think?) and it was pretty ok.

Hopkins FBI
Only played the demo, which was alright, but I've heard the full game is kinda shit with some serious issues with violence-against-women fetishism.

try this one.

also, Master of Dimensions. good point and click adventure but not necessarily Detective but I think it has some weird ass black and white detective tv series sequence you can play inbetween. if I remember correctly.

Tex Murphy series
J.B. Harold series (Murder Club and Manhattan Requiem are in english)

Police Quest (except 4) and Blue Force are more oriented towards police simulation, so it can be a little bit annoying, you have to play by the rules or get a bad ending.

>> No.2119598

The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes (Case of Serrated Scalpel and Case of Rose Tattoo)
Cruise for a Corpse
Discworld Noir
Tex Murphy series of games. The first two are pretty rough but fine themselves, but the really great games start with Under a Killing Moon. The Pandora Directive is one of the best adventure games ever made.

I have only Gabriel Knight 3's physical copy. Should I start with the first one?

>>2119578
I'll definitely have to try this, thanks!

>>2119587
>Hobkins FBI
Even with all the gore it looks bit toonish. How seriously does it take itself? Is it self-conscious like Max Payne?

>>2119589
I was thinking of Jack Orlando but the toony artstyle kept me on my toes. I think I'll try it!

Yes, it's the best from the series

Hopkins FBI really isn't worth playing trough unless you're into necrophiliac torture/goreporn.
It's got some good background art but the puzzles and story are nonsensical and the music is beyond annoying.

Discworld Noir!

The demo that I played was about as serious as Angel Cop, but the full game from what I've seen is just off the rails with stupidity.

The demo for Hopkins FBI is free (like all demos) and only takes maybe 30 minutes to beat, so play that if you want. The full game is not worth it though.
