I downloaded retroarch on my phone and so far i've tried snes, genesis, gb, gba

and i have some issues with gba, i tried pokemon emerald, and it goes really slow on both cores, just now i got it working on normal speed, changed the overlay to the GBA one, and when i get out of the menu, it freezes my phone.

anyone knows what i might be doing wrong?

What kind of phone? The standalone emulators that you have to pay for are said to better than retroarch.

samsung galaxy fame lite, not the best of them all but i was told i could play anything on there by you people. I'm sure i should be able to, since i'm running android games way more complex than fucking GBA, and to be honest i don't plan emulating dreamcast or anything too heavy on it, so it doesn't matter

Does it have automatic per-game input mapping like MAME?

Only one certain set, and it's debatable.

GBA is the only one thing you really don't want to use Retroarch for, it's quite slow. Sorry, but hey.

Only two I ever thought were worth a damn because there's an ocean of those:
>MyBoy has tilt controls emulated.
>.Emu/SNES9x EX uses about the closest to what's available to PC outside of RetroArch

Also GBA isn't retro.

wait, is there an actual RA shader that makes games look like they're old magazine screenshots? i need that

Are there GBA games that work well with that?

Anyway to get shaders to work on the original xbox port of Retroarch? I'd love to get crt-interlaced-halation on my TV

well i don't have a controller, can i emulate shit without it freezing my phone every 2 minutes?

should i download ccleaner or some shit like that to have more RAM available?

With a 850 MHz cpu it shouldn't have any trouble I don't think. Did you see if there is a lot of background apps running or any bloat that you can get rid of? You want as much of that power going to the emulator as possible.

Oh, I remember something else. On my moto g I tried retroarch and super mario world did lag at first. Messing with the sound settings in retroarch fixed it though. Try there

>> No.2114980

>>2114975
okay, any suggestion with the settings? there's a shitload of settings on retroarch starting from different cores for the same console

>> No.2114985

>>2114980
First, disable audio from the settings and run it to see if that's even the problem. If that worked, try each 'Audio latency' setting until it plays smoothly.

Not outside of actual tilt sensor games. But it does do something your PC can't so I guess that's good.

The answer to this is probably "no," but can you get Retroarch to run second gen consoles like Atari/Colecovision/Intellivision/etc?

I know that's what MESS is for, but I understand there's a Retroarch emulator for Wii and a relative of mine wants me to see if I can get Intellivision games on his Wii since he's nostalgic for it.

>> No.2116034

>>2116009
Not him, but having used both, I can say that the .Emu series has a much better UI and runs faster on certain devices due to frameskip being enabled. But RA is just as good if you can run it just fine, and it has more emulators on it. Also Neo.Emu sucks.

I've recently had some trouble with Lolipop and the series though, I'd wait for an update.
